En el vídeo de hoy (lo podéis ver arriba) os mostramos cómo se usa la cámara del móvil para traducir textos que leemos en la calle o en algún documento, enfocando y viendo la traducción de forma instantánea, sin necesidad de enviar formularios ni hacer clicks, aprovechando las maravillas de la realidad aumentada.

La función que veis la presentaron en Google hace unas semanas, el resultado de la compra de WordLens en 2014, aplicación que integraron dentro del traductor oficial para facilitar la transformación de un texto en otro idioma.

Si enfocáis en texto escrito a mano es posible que no realice la traducción correctamente, ya que primero se tienen que identificar las letras capturadas, pero si lo hacéis en letra creada por ordenador, el éxito está casi garantizado.

Esta traducción instantánea se ofrece actualmente desde inglés a francés, alemán, italiano, portugués, ruso y español (y viceversa), aunque ya están trabajando en ampliar esta cantidad de idiomas.

Cuanto más libros tenga en mi colección virtual o real nunca es suficiente.  Ya sea en su idioma original o traducción se me han vuelto un vicio.  Y lo que me gusta más es comparar la idea original con las traducciones a veces precarias de algunas editoriales.
