The EST has awarded its 2013 Summer School Scholarship to Alenka Morel of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Her research project is A Critical Discourse Analysis of Community Interpreting in Slovenia and is supervised by Dr. Vojko Gorjanc.
The winner will receive 1,000 euros to attend the Edinburgh Interpreting Research Summer School.
This year the Summer School Scholarship Committee received and carefully evaluated 38 applications. The proposals were from various branches of Translation Studies, including literary translation, interpreting, process-oriented translation research, audiovisual translation, to name just a few. This year there was an increased interest in the scholarship from candidates from non-European countries such as India, Malaysia, Australia or Argentina.
The members of the Summer School Scholarship Committee were Barbara Ahrens, Alexandra Assis Rosa, Franz Pöchhacker, Sonia Vandepitte and Iwona Mazur as chair.
