No argument. More hype than evidence. Yet that does not mean we stop. Thin slicing works too often to ignore, and only time produces the longitudinal numbers. If everyone waited, nothing would get done, which is exactly what a minority of entities, vested interests, want.

Wonderful idea. I mentioned on my Ed Tech podcast what I believed then to be a cause for the drop out rate for MOOCs, that being the reality that some students get what they need out of a course long before the course creator deems the student as having finished.

Our education system is a reflection of the society in which it operates. How could it be anything other?  Hopefully, it is a reflection that also presents a positive view of the future, but it is true that there will always be conservative aspects to it that make it hesitant to embrace untested theories and technologies.  This is not an unalloyed weakness.
