QR codes were never going to "change education forever" but can modify or even redefine lessons when used judiciously. Today, I am working with a French teacher to have kids research specific pieces of art, record their curation of the pieces in French,  attach QR codes, then test their listening skills as the move about the school, listening to their classmates' art curations. This approach turns an OK lesson to a spectacular lesson that the kids will always remember.
