Chris Carter's insight:
If you re in the area, this is the biggest bang-for-the-buck in EdTech in Shanghai, considering it is a free beer or two. I very much enjoy going to these mini-events. A free beer, good people, and creative conversations. Also, it gives us an opportunity to present, in 1-2 minutes, a tool or two that we have discovered. Please consider attending.

A Chart Featuring Some of The Best Augmented Reality Apps to Use With Students

A Chart Featuring Some of The Best Augmented Reality Apps to Use With Students | Transformational Teaching and Technology | Scoop.it
Augmented reality is making some huge inroads in the field of education. More and more teachers are incorporating this relatively new technology in their classrooms. Augmented reality is also redefining the notion of learning by adding a layer of interactivity, engagement and vividness to students learning experiences. Teachers have been using augmented reality in many varied ways and across different school subjects, this post from Edutopia provides some good examples in this regard. The success of AR in education is attributed to the increasing availability of mobile apps designed specifically to help learners leverage the power of AR in their learning.  Below are some very good AR apps to try out with your students. This is a work in progress and we will be adding more to the list in the future. Enjoy

I like that it gives a comparison of behaviorism, cognitism and constructivism (even though we aren't looking at that school) and it also gives information about the teachers, learner and techniques, etc.

Valuing and responding to resistance to change

Valuing and responding to resistance to change | Transformational Teaching and Technology | Scoop.it

Change is something that we fear or embrace. It is widely considered as the one constant in our lives. For education at present we face a deluge of reports that the pace of change shall only accelerate and its scale become more absolute. No wonder then that many teachers feel now is a good time for a move out of the profession. For others the changing face of education is seen as bringing exciting new possibilities wrapped in engaging challenges. Regardless of how reliable predictions for change may prove to be it is worth considering how individuals and groups respond to it.
