How I Hacked SlideShare to Optimize Twitter

How I Hacked SlideShare to Optimize Twitter | Training & Self-Directed Learning | Scoop.it

Following my first couple of weeks at Salesforce’s Desk.com, I created a deck called “50 Customer Service Quotes You NEED to Hang In Your Office,” which currently has more than 205,000 views. Right off the bat I knew this was going to be a great deck and would receive a lot of attention — people love quotes and they love to tweet about them. However, I did not want users to be limited to only sharing the deck along with the title. I wanted viewers to actually tweet the quotes!

That is why I came up with a way for viewers to tweet an actual quote from an individual slide. Click here to see what I mean, and view the presentation below for step-by-step instructions on how to do this....

Progressive Education: The Rising Power Of Student Voice

Progressive Education: The Rising Power Of Student Voice | Training & Self-Directed Learning | Scoop.it
Read many current educational articles or twitter feeds, and it becomes pretty clear that progressive educationalists are gaining voice.
Jenifer Rettler's insight:

Education is beginning to let or in some cases encourage students to become more engaged in learning.  Greater affordability of technological advancements (like portable technology) offer more opportunities to facilitate student driven interaction with learning content.  But in many cases this doesn’t yet let students have true autonomy in learning (and granted it is not desired by all students).  It should however be a goal of formal education to prepare students for a future of more independent learning.  However, few formal learning environments offer enough ways to test student’s capabilities of independent learning before they leave.  Hopefully as students gain more independent opportunities to engage with learning they will also want to test themselves with opportunities where they have more control.  If successful, they will drive education to offering more opportunities for independent learning.
