Karen Dietz's curator insight, June 30, 1:46 PM

This is a great SlideShare piece by Lusko advocating that any business -- whether you are a startup or an established brand -- can use storytelling to grow.

I like the points made here about the kinds of stories you can tell, along with the list of customer personas that make your story crafting easier.

I just wish they had described the archetypes more! But never fear -- just Google the archetype and you'll have  wealth of information. Or use Carol Pearson's book The Hero And The Outlaw for a complete explanation (I have no financial ties to Carol).

So grab this piece and hone your stories!

This review was written by Karen Dietz for her curated content on business storytelling at www.scoop.it/t/just-story-it

Chrome Experiments - "Recollections" by Samuel Snider-Held

Chrome Experiments - "Recollections" by Samuel Snider-Held | Tracking Transmedia | Scoop.it
Recollections is an experiment in digital time travel. In the mid 19th century, a form of three dimensional photography called steroscopy was invented. By taking two photos at the same time side by side, the illusion of depth was created when viewed through devices called stereoscopes.

Now there exist ways to create 3d models from photographs. This technique is called photogrammetry. The future of photogrammetry has wide implications for virtual and augmented reality. The minimum number of photographs needed to make a computer generated model is two, i.e. a stereographic set of images.

By feeding 100 year old stereograms into modern computer algorithms, we can recreate 3D models of the subject of those photographs. When viewed through modern stereo graphic displays such as the Oculus Rift, a form of digital time travel is achieved

siobhan-o-flynn's insight:

“The web gives us, as directors, a lot of possibilities, freedom and creativity to tell stories in a new way,” the 46-year-old Dufresne (pictured, left) tells realscreen, adding that a broadcast version of Fort McMoney is in production.

“You don’t tell the same things in a TV version that you do in a web doc or game doc,” he says. “On the web, what is magical to me is that people feel they are part of the movie, part of the story – that they’re inside...."

Documentary storytelling with you directing the action (Wired UK)

Documentary storytelling with you directing the action (Wired UK) | Tracking Transmedia | Scoop.it

"Although the interactive documentary -- or iDoc -- is maturing, the field (and the terminology) remains subject to definition. (The MIT Open Documentary Lab's exhaustive "docubase" shows the variation over the years.) "Delivery platforms -- whether TV or film -- used to dictate the length and format of a documentary," says Ingrid Kopp, director of digital initiatives at New York's Tribeca Film Festival. "Now nothing is formalised, because the web isn't -- it doesn't dictate those structures. Everything is now wide open."
