'BBC3’s move from a linear broadcast channel to online service will “pioneer how channels work in the future”, according to the BBC’s 2013/14 annual report.

 

BBC director-general Tony Hall said the iPlayer was a “key part” of the BBC’s future, and the broadcaster detailed plans to personalise its online services through a significantly increased use of data analytics.

Speaking to The Drum ahead of the report’s release at the Ericsson Executive Media Summit in Sweden, the BBC’s director of future media Ralph Rivera said the broadcaster was moving into the “next phase” of its online plan....'

Anji county in Zhejiang province plans to develop film industry by introducing domestic and foreign investors to establish film-themed industrial parks.
Andrea Rossi's insight:

"The park, with total investment of 17 billion yuan, will have a complete film industry, including filming base, post production center, film museum, film college and theme park. The construction will be completed in six years.

 

This is one of three film industrial investment Anji county has recently attracted. On July 21, it announced its cooperation with renowned French film venue Cannes to establish a film city.

 

The program, expected to cost $1 billion, aims at introducing the Cannes Film Festival mode to China. Initiated by the city of Cannes, the China Film Exchanges and Cooperation Association and the Asia Pacific Exchange and Cooperation Foundation, it is intended to establish a French-style zone that can provide film, cultural and tourism services to Chinese citizens." I haven't read this article but I knew right away, when I saw the title, that it was a valuable subject.  I think that if more business people knew who much curation helps their 'don't have time' problem, they'd really be enthusiastic about it. 

 

There's a tendancy, I believe, among business owners to think that people who read their blog, or website (or any other content) expect it to be Pulitzer Prize quality.  I don't think that's true at all.  Nor do customers expect a LOT of content.  They just want to know what the business owner thinks and (in many cases) what they're 'up to'.

 

Curation makes it so easy for business owners to give them that info.
