Interesting article here Jason, certainly agree with the points you focused on regarding the fact that an effective marketing mix requires more than just a heavy social media presence as it is far from the only way to communicate with customers and we must give the customers preferred method of contact serious consideration if we want our message to be received positively

I agree with Reuben, current and developing businesses are using social media to directly market their consumers, however some established businesses are taking longer to get into social media use- be it the idea that it may not be affective, or that they do not have time to update and control the page. However, as Reuben mentioned, all businesses including established ones should use social media as a platform to excell business.

As most of these articles suggest, social media is now a critical aspect of business communication to consumers. Therefore I agree with Reuben that older companies need to get on board the bandwagon and join social media into their communication mix to keep updated with what newer and developing businesses are doing, and succeeding in.

The Importance of Embracing Social Media in the C-Suite The impact of social media in the digital bazaar is undeniable.  Consumers now demand more
Reuben Gordon Dalziel's insight:

This particular article illustrates the importance of involving social media platforms with your business. Marketers are able to jump abroad the social media 'buzz' that is constantly growing because it has a higher level of involvement than a lot of other brands and products on the market. If the CEO or marketing executive of a brand is able to interact with consumers with direct messages to their social media profile, they are connecting with them on a personal level that can be very hard to establish, but very useful because it paints a good image in the consumer's head.

As mentioned throughout other articles, a common trend amongst businesses is integrating social media into their communication with consumers and target markets. Established businesses are beginning to use social media, whereas newer businesses are taking the plunge into social media almost immediately. I agree with what Reuben mentions about communicating to consumers on a personal level through social media and maintaining that communication. This could mean that social media becomes a job for a new employee or more time is taken in maintaining relationships between business and consumer.

I agree with what Reuben states as personal communication through businesses and consumers using social media. This platform allows consumers to provide feedback and complaints which can help develop a business successfully.
