Thanks, Nik, and sorry if I raised unnecessary doubts about this service; I suppose we all need to boost our digital literacy, and being able to figure out if a web tool is safe is one of the key skills, isn't it? Cheers!
Nik Peachey's comment, April 29, 2013 8:10 AM
Hi Amadeu. No problem. It's always a good idea to check every source before signing up. I work very quickly and often forget so it's good to remind me. I usualy stay away from services which require me to sign in through another service, but this looks really good so I made an exception.

Maria Lupandina's curator insight, April 8, 2013 4:11 PM

MyBuckets

MyBuckets | Tools for Teachers & Learners | Scoop.it

The application allows you to connect to Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, LinkedIn, and/or Twitter, bringing all of your feeds into one central location. Not only does it provide a one-stop shop for these social networks, it allows you to group friends/followings across these networks into individual "buckets”. A bucket can be anything from one person you know, to a group such as family or co-workers, or even just a description like sports. The buckets you create or your connected social network feeds can be displayed, which enables you to see and act upon a real time listing of posts coming from each service.

Nik Peachey's insight:

This site enables you to manage all your social network connections from one place. Could be pretty useful for you and your students if you are taking social networking seriously.

The price is good compared to other options such as Inkling
Christin Lopez's curator insight, October 23, 2014 7:15 AM

This site provides a way to have an online textbook that you can share with students. Even in the free edition, there are upgrade charges for features and more storage, you can create and join classes.

It looks like this has the potential to be a great resource, but I found trouble right away while searching for a couple topics that I currently teach. There are not textbooks that have tags that help me find what I was looking for. This made me question if the information is on the site and not tagged, or is it too new that others have not uploaded information. I thought that the software creators would have obtained copyright privileges for a number of topics to start the site out. They would have been seed ideas to get the ball rolling. For you to upload PDFs, you need to have the copyright permissions. So while the potential is there for individualizing, it is not a quick jump right into it.
