Edmodo is a great online platform with huge educational potential for teachers. Since its launch a few years ago, Edmodo is being used now by huge number of teachers and schools from all around the globe. Given this mounting importance of Edmodo in teaching, I created  a section where you can find a plethora of resources, guides, and materials on how to leverage the power of this web tool in your classroom, check out here.

Today, I am sharing with you two important things every teacher should be able to do on Edmodo. These are: creating a classroom group and adding apps to this group.

Five-Minute Film Festival: The Basics of Blended Learning

Five-Minute Film Festival: The Basics of Blended Learning | Tools and ideas for TEFL | Scoop.it

"The dictionary definition of blended learning (sometimes called hybrid learning) is so broad, it sometimes feels like nearly every modern classroom could fit under that umbrella. But the key to understanding blended learning is that it's not about the technology; it's about transforming instructional design to maximize teacher time, to better utilize digital resources, and to build a community of engaged learners of all stripes. To help you navigate the meaning and the potential of blended learning, I've gathered a playlist of videos and resources to explore on the topic."

It also promotes the kind of change we’ve needed for nearly a century. In fact, this may be the most important video ever made."

Grammarly to check and improve your grammar

Grammarly to check and improve your grammar | Tools and ideas for TEFL | Scoop.it

Even the most confident of native speakers can sometimes have doubts about their spelling and grammar. As for learners of English, getting their writing to a really high degree of proficiency can be a real challenge. It’s great to have a friend to turn to in moments of doubt or better still someone who will proof read your work and give you a second opinion, but if you don’t have that luxury then the Grammarly plagiarism checker is probably the next best thing.

40+ Resources for Teaching Using Animation and Comics ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Tools and ideas for TEFL | Scoop.it

"Some of the animation links catalogued here will give educators very basic tools and histories of animation while others have the animation already created and set in motion, it’s just a matter of sharing it with students.

Educators need to decide which tool is best for them. If you want to create your own animation from scratch, then you want to go to sites such as Animwork. If you want to select from animation that’s already set up for you then perhaps Explainia makes more sense."

26 Tips to Help Students Become Better Learners ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

26 Tips to Help Students Become Better Learners ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Tools and ideas for TEFL | Scoop.it

"Here is a cool chart featuring some important tips to help your students be smart learners. You can use this chart in your class with your students as a motivator to boost their learning moral or as a checklist for assessing their learning habits. While some of these tips are straightforward such as tip 6, 9, 11, other tips are a bit generic (tip 23, 25,26). Overall, these suggested tips cover several skills students need to work on to be better learners. These skills include sensory-motor skills, communicational skills, emotional skills, inter and intrapersonal skills, and critical thinking skills. They also touch on key areas integral to effective learning including: introspection, creativity, confidence, imagination, networking, passion, sharp observation, experimentation among many others."
