Can you be successful with only 1 iPad in the classroom?

Can you be successful with only 1 iPad in the classroom? | Tools and Apps for School Libraries | Scoop.it

The answer is easy: YES, especially if the teacher has access to a Mac desktop or (preferably) laptop and a wifi network in the classroom.  It is an even larger YES if the Mac device has the most current operating system. Having a computer to which the iPad can sync is not absolutely necessary, but it is a Best Idea.  If you are not feeling confident, get your IT person or another teacher to help you out with setup.

New iPad App May Be The Future Of Collaborative Online Learning

New iPad App May Be The Future Of Collaborative Online Learning | Tools and Apps for School Libraries | Scoop.it

Net’s software is called ‘Spin‘ which essentially turns passive video watching into interactive group learning. It’s like project-based learning but with the entire planet instead of just your classroom.

Right now, Spin lets you remix and interact with content from Harvard, Stanford, TED, and the National Geographic Channel.

“Teachers felt web-based learning wasn’t giving them the full experience,” Tara Lemmey, Net Power & Light’s co-founder and chief executive officer, said in an interview. “Education shouldn’t live by itself. It’s a world of together.”
