Stephen Jones: Tony Romo is like LeBron James, just needs a ring

Stephen Jones: Tony Romo is like LeBron James, just needs a ring | Tony Romo | Scoop.it
Cowboys Executive VP Stephen Jones seems to think there's one thing that will make Tony Romo's naysayers go away: a Lombardi trophy and the Super Bowl ring that comes with it.
Max Goodwin's insight:

I never would have thought that in his first 100 starts, Tony Romo has more passing yards and completions than any other quarterback to that point in their career. I would agree that he is really underrated but I think most people that really follow the league know how good he is. It's just that he seems to blow up in the most important games every single time. That is one thing a great quarterback can't struggle with, if they are in fact great.

For fantasy football, I think Romo is underrated, because there is no "cluth" category. But on a real football team I don't think I would consider Romo as one of my top picks if I was choosing which quarterbacks to build a team around.

Taylor: Romo maturing, but will it finally stick?

Taylor: Romo maturing, but will it finally stick? | Tony Romo | Scoop.it
Tony Romo has matured, but will his careful approach become a staple for him?
Max Goodwin's insight:

It would be great for my team if Romo's evolution is real and consistent. The article does point out that "Romo is being more careful with the ball. He's sacrificing yards for completion percentage." Well, I don't receive fantasy points for completion percentage. It helps if he's not throwing interceptions, but I need yards and touchdowns. So far, I like the consistency I've had from Romo. I feel like I can trust him for 16-20 fantasy points each week.

Tony Romo calls out Broncos' secondary for rough play

Tony Romo calls out Broncos' secondary for rough play | Tony Romo | Scoop.it
Cowboys QB said Broncos defensive backs
Max Goodwin's insight:

I'm glad to see that Romo is giving the referees something to look out for and helping his receivers out.

"They grab, they hold, they've almost put a lot of pressure on the refs – whether or not they're going to call the game close or not," Romo said.

He was talking about the defensive backs for the Denver Broncos. Maybe this will pay off with a couple extra penalties on the Broncos and help get Dez Bryant some seperation. Maybe.
