This artcle is about the rise in teenagers under 16 drinking and how people are cosidered abnormal for not drinking at a young age. It's saying that Australia is a binge drinking country with a whopping 36 billion dollars spent on alcohol relaed incidents.

Young people are bombarded with messages every day that "normalise" alcohol, writes NICKY SLOAN.
Tom King's insight:

This article is about the effect on young people when alcohol is suggested as normal. Its saying that advertising is "normalising" alcohol at cricket events, alcohol adverts on toy cars, alcohol vouchers on reciepts, facebook and many others. It also explains that parents find it difficult to say no when their teenagers ask for alcohol, as the teenagers say that "All the other parents let their kids". This relates to our topic as its about alcohol and young teenagers.

HEAVY drinking will kill 300 people and cause thousands more to be assaulted or put in hospital this summer, according to fresh analysis from a new body, the NSW/ACT Alcohol Policy Alliance.

First of all this relates to our topic because its about the rise in injuries from alcohol.

The articles explains that the rise of injuries and even deaths is alarming. They're sayng that people meed to be aware of the risks. Statistics in the article state that 300 deaths, 12,000 hospitalisations and nearly 7900 assaults associated to alcohol. It also says that 12 million dollars worth of police time will be spent on alcohol problems yearly.
