Why Mobile Learning Is Inevitable - Edudemic | Today's Education Technology | Scoop.it
Mobile learning is here to stay. In fact, it's going to be one of the only options for learning pretty soon. This new presentation tells you why.

Edudemic's curator insight, June 6, 2:44 PM

This may sound like a lofty title, but it’s not wrong. There’s an impressive presentation making the rounds dubbed “Mobile is eating the World” by Benedict Evans. In the presentation, Evans shows some staggering charts, interesting factoids, and all the other statistics you’d expect with a title so grand. It makes me think about mobile learning, mobile browsing, and mobile everything.

Stories bring us together, encourage us to understand and empathize, and help us to communicate. Long before paper and books were common and affordable, information passed from generation to generation through this oral tradition of storytelling. How To Convert Prezi Presentations To YouTube Videos

How To Convert Prezi Presentations To YouTube Videos | Today's Education Technology | Scoop.it

Anyone who has used the Prezi platform would know that creating a Prezi and uploading it to Prezi.com is easy enough, however when it comes to converting it to a YouTube video, there seems to be no native method of doing so.

While you can convert PowerPoint to video formats using a native PowerPoint feature, the same cannot be said for the Prezi application.

However, you can convert Prezi to YouTube by using a workaround.

Blaine Morrow's curator insight, June 10, 11:25 AM

"Videos are great for presenting visual information and emotional appeals, but not particularly effective at diving below the surface of non-visual theoretical or abstract topics or for driving critical thinking. What’s more, any video presented in class must compete for attention and memory with the five-plus hours the typical student spends outside of class watching television programs, movies, and other onscreen entertainment. "With this new application in Google Docs ( Drive ), teachers can now record their audio comments and share them with their students. Update/Tip: I tried it out-if you have to change your original document-just copy it and add voice to it-121 Writing doesn't sync with your Google Docs updates.

Instructors are always looking for ways to add audio feedback-I'd much prefer adding voice messages to my student's Google Docs then just text like I have in the past.

As soon as you click the Create a Page button, you can start immediately adding a main title, text, and any type of additional content including images, audio, web links, lists, video, maps, tweets and more.

The appearance of the page can also be customized somewhat by changing the background image and specifying colors for each one of the content components present on a page.

Other features include the ability to make your web page "private" or public, and whether it will "expire" after some time. Only in the case you want to keep your web page "private" you will need to login into Checkthis by using Twitter/Facebook or Google as sign-in intermediaries.
