Gordon Murdie's comment, May 5, 2012 4:34 AM
As the cloud of defeat gently settles here, may I say that during the "battle", it was a pleasure to meet a genuinely sincere, thoughtful and courteous man - and lose to him! Cameron Rose even arranged for my polling station boards to be, as he put it, "taken into custody" to save me a late night trip around the 9 polling stations. I shan't be needing them again - ever! Trams apart, I don't believe that Southside/Newington will be better served without Gordon Mackenzie - I base that on his replacement's performance at the hustings - enough said!
