Customer feedback is essential, and businesses, especially small businesses, want to encourage customers to speak with them and give them their feedback.  However, customers and clients must feel that their opinions matter and they will get results if they express their opinion.

Relationship Marketing is key to maintaining open communication and dialogue between the business and its customers.  If customers know that they are a valued part of the business and they are listened to, they will be more ready to give feedback to the business rather than posting it on social media and voicing their discontent on those platforms and elsewhere, including  blogs.

Excellent statistics! Very useful for businesses/marketers and informative. This was my second favorite posting in my thread. Graphs and illustrations like these make it easy to understand who/what/where/when we should be marketing.

Darius Douglass's curator insight, May 10, 7:32 PM

Customer service  is the most important relationship between consumer and business.  Social Media provides a balanced medium as the consumer and business share equal footing.  This is why net neutrality is such a hot button issue.

5 Advanced YouTube SEO Tactics to Drive More Traffic to Your Videos and Website

5 Advanced YouTube SEO Tactics to Drive More Traffic to Your Videos and Website | Social Media in Manufacturing Today | Scoop.it

Excerpt from the article by Brian Dean and published on Search Engine Watch:
"If you take the time to optimize your videos for SEO, you'll get significantly more traffic than your competitors.

It's not nearly as complex as Google's famous 200 ranking signals, but YouTube's algorithm is no joke. It takes dozens of signals into account for ranking videos in YouTube search.

1. Write Super-Long Video Descriptions
The more YouTube knows about your video, the more confidently it can rank it for your target keyword.
But more importantly, YouTube uses keywords in the description to rank you for super-long tail keywords.
Make sure your video descriptions are at least 200 words.

2. Optimize Around "Video Keywords"
Before deciding on a keyword for your video, check to see if there are video results on the first page. If so, that's a keyword you should strongly consider because you can potentially get your video ranked in Google and YouTube.

3. Get More Video Views From Online Communities
Share your video liberally on online communities. This will hook your video up with the type of quality, high-retention views that YouTube likes to see.

4. Encourage Subscribing and Liking
Subscribing and liking are two of the most important user experience signals that YouTube uses.
At the end of your video, give people a strong call to action that encourages them to subscribe.

5. Create Keyword-Rich Playlists
A keyword-rich playlist gives YouTube deeper information about your video's topic. And like we saw with your description, more text-based content=more views.
Once you have 10 videos in your YouTube channel, organize them into tightly themed playlists..."

How Scoop.it, Google Plus & Twitter can turn chaos into order

How Scoop.it, Google Plus & Twitter can turn chaos into order | Social Media in Manufacturing Today | Scoop.it

If you do anything professionally related to online technology, you understand the immense amount of data you need to sort through each day. There are the daily content roundups, blogs to read, Facebook posts and to check, tweets to scroll through and news sites. That doesn’t include whatever else arrives in your in-box. I literally cannot keep up with all that I want to know about social media technology and its use for engagement, fundraising and advocacy.

It’s really too much to know. That’s when I began trusting the curators.

Trusting the curators was a strategy I employed to begin to figure out what to read, what I needed to read, and what others whom I trusted thought was important to read. We cannot read it all. We cannot begin to imagine trying to read it all. We must trust to the curators.

Trusting others to curate content has become my primary means for gathering relevant information about social media and particularly nonprofit technology.

The Ideal Length for All Online Content

The Ideal Length for All Online Content | Social Media in Manufacturing Today | Scoop.it

Every so often when I’m tweeting or emailing, I’ll think: Should I really be writing so much?

I tend to get carried away. And for the times that I do, it sure would be nice to know if all this extra typing is hurting or helping my cause. I want to stand out on social media, but I want to do it in the right way.

Curious, I dug around and found some answers for the ideal lengths of tweets and titles and everything in between. Many of these could have been answered with “it depends,” but where’s the fun in that?

Solid research exists to show the value of writing, tweeting, and posting at certain lengths. We can learn a lot from scientific social media guidelines like these. Here’s the best of what I found.

Vellum acts as a reading list  for your Twitter feed, finding all the links that are being shared by those you follow on Twitter and displaying them each with their full titles and descriptions.

This flips the Twitter model, treating the links as primary and the commentary as secondary (you can still see all the tweets about each link, but they are less prominent).

Vellum puts a spotlight on content, making it easy to find what you should read next.

Rescooped by ManufacturingStories from Web Scraping Services
Scoop.it!

Why You Need Custom Web Scraping Services

If you run a business, you want to be aware of what the competition is up to so that you are always ahead of the game. This necessitates you to carry out market research so that you get the relevant information which can help you to progress. However, the best and easiest way to go about this is through web scraping.

One of the most common methods businesses use to get data is employing people whose work is to manually browse the web looking for relevant information. While this process is reliable, it takes up a lot of time and it is costly. Nowadays, various data mining companies have developed effective data scraping methodologies which make this process cheaper and faster.

The way this works is that you tell the data scraping company what sort of information you need. Depending on your needs, you can get custom web scraping services so that the web crawlers can turn up information that will be relevant and useful to your business. Once the data is collected, it is converted into a form that you can analyze and thereafter act upon. You can decipher patterns and trends from this information and then formulate policies. You can also decide to store the information gathered for future use. Some of these formats include CSV files, databases and XML files among others.

There are various reasons why you might want to have web scraping services. You might want to keep an eye for any changes in regulations in your field of business and thus you may want to gather data from relevant government portals.

If for instance your business is in highly competitive industry, you might want to keep tabs on the changes that your competitors are implementing. Competitor price monitoring can help you ensure that you are not charging too high or too low for your services or products. This is especially important if you are running an ecommerce business as customers are very perceptive to any changes. This is because they will browse through various other similar sites and take a pick at the one they consider is best.

When it comes to gaining such market intelligence from your competitors, it is best that you are not noticed while doing so. This is why there are companies that can provide anonymous web scraping so that you do not leave any traces. This allows your business to gather intelligence from your competitors without them knowing.

Getting custom web scraping might turn out to be the best thing for your business. It is still a relatively new concept but one that is bound to have benefits for your company. There are many ways you can get data from anonymous web scraping and others but the most important thing is to have a plan on what to do with the data.
