What Can We Expect From The Next Decade Of Marketing?

What Can We Expect From The Next Decade Of Marketing? | tips of business development | Scoop.it
While most of the impact of technology on marketing has been tactical so far, over the next decade or so there will be a major strategic transformation.

Greg provides in depth analysis how Marketing is evolving :

"digital technology has enabled us to retarget consumers when they respond to a message and that has changed marketing forever.  In effect, we must make the shift from grabbing attention to holding attention.

That means that brands will have to learn to be more like publishers and learn content skills.  It also means that marketers will have to create a genuine value exchange rather than just coming up with catchy ad slogans and price promotions.  Like it or not, we’ve entered a post-promotional paradigm.

Big data is enabling an entirely different approach.  Rather than wait for the results of controlled studies and then analyze them to glean insights, we can collect massive amounts of data in real time.  Instead of fooling ourselves into thinking we have it right, we can become less wrong over time."

I particularly like this last sentence.

Protect Your Startup: 5 Steps To Create Effective Business Processes

Protect Your Startup: 5 Steps To Create Effective Business Processes | tips of business development | Scoop.it

Many startups overlook the importance of establishing business processes. In a founding team’s scramble to develop a product or service and go to market, developing structure often (understandably) takes a backseat to other priorities. However, growth and long-term success demand processes, and it is never too early to focus on building them.

I love this attribution to Aristotle who "...explained that moral virtues do not arise in us by nature; we must accept them, embrace them and perfect them by habit." and the formula: Leadership Ethics is Integrity = Responsibility + Respect

Nicely stated Steve and thank you.

Five B2B Marketing Trends to Watch

Five B2B Marketing Trends to Watch | tips of business development | Scoop.it
Marketing Strategy - Today's B2B marketers find themselves confronting a rapidly shifting landscape. Let's look at how you can tap into five developing trends that can help you steer your way to success.

Russ provides a well rounded approach, which can apply to B2C as well:

"Today's B2B marketers find themselves confronting a rapidly shifting landscape.

The ever-increasing array of digital/social options means that if companies are to engage with their customers, employees, or competitors through social media, they must use a variety of multimedia platforms and provide eye-catching shareable content.

They have to make everything available on mobile. Big Data is not a "nice to have" but a "must have" for marketers to make informed decisions. And, of course, there's the adoption of agile marketing and learning how to respond to change instead of just following a marketing plan."

I can sum up this article in one sentence;

"Growth of Profit is better than growth of Revenue"

Sounds simplistic but if we focused every decision on profit there would be ideas or products that won't make it out of the planning stage.  Think of this, if an idea does not produce profit drop the idea.  Now you have time to plan an idea that does.  Wow, OMG I scare myself sometimes.

Let me start by saying that the image I selected is NOT one of those 7 tips!! Did it get you intrigued though?

Kevin provides a thorough understanding of the 7 traits amazing communicators do.

A key element to remember: "How you communicate will determine if you lead, command respect, earn trust and are well liked."

One thing that I learned throughout my career: Never assume. Communicate as often, and as clearly as possible, this will engage everyone within your organization and create a clear sense of purpose and goals.
