Innovative Bootstrapping. How Sam Calagione & Dogfish Head Brewery changed an industry with a $5 toy. - Venture Blend - The Best Business Tools for Entrepreneurs | Tips for Fast Learning | Scoop.it
By the early 2000’s, Dogfish Head had built a reputation for creating innovative and over-the-top beers. While large breweries were still churning out light and rather flavorless beers, Dogfish Head was creating beers using everything from apricot, to chicory, chocolate, peppers, pumpkin, and various spices. While the large breweries were buying rice and hops in bulk, Sam Calagione was traveling the world seeking out exotic spices and other ingredients to include in his beers.

10 Steps To Effective Listening

10 Steps To Effective Listening | Tips for Fast Learning | Scoop.it

In today’s high-tech, high-speed, high-stress world, communication is more important then ever, yet we seem to devote less and less time to really listening to one another. Genuine listening has become a rare gift—the gift of time. It helps build relationships, solve problems, ensure understanding, resolve conflicts, and improve accuracy. At work, effective listening means fewer errors and less wasted time. At home, it helps develop resourceful, self-reliant kids who can solve their own problems. Listening builds friendships and careers. It saves money and marriages.
