Tichivangana -in search of the lost tribes
The text "Tichivangana - In search of the lost tribes" is the story of a travel made in 1991 by Emmanuel Kleidman in Africa, in South-Zimbabwe, in search of the of Lembas, identified by some researchers as one of the lost tribes of Israel.
Manuel narrates in great details his travel of research, at a time physical and spiritual experience, he describes the places he goes through; he shows and sheds light on the stories behind the faces he meets on the road, as a real artist. He's hosted in the village by the chief and by the Old Men: the dialogue begins, they pray together, they discuss, they exchange gifts each other..
...weakened by an illness, Manuel is forced to leave in search of...a doctor!
A word stays in our hearth at the end of the reading: "tichivangana", word that is before whispered and then repeated aloud by the old Lemba who talks with Manuel and whose eyes, faded and unfathomable, watch us from a photo saying again: "tichivangana", "we lost our complexion, our colours".
Photographic reportage and journal of voyage, written on the way back to Israel, "à la recerche..." becomes today a theatrical performance, thanks to the involvement of the Suricata s.r.l., the Liceo I. Vian "stage H" group in the figures of the producer Cecilia Pagliarani, the young and promising actor Federico Gatti, Mr Roberto Renzi, and the "module H stagieres" (A. Pandin, A, Perugini, A. Stronati, C. Gliorgiucci, G. Tagliaferri, V. Fratini).
We invite you to the performance next March 29th at the Pigorini Museum in Rome.
