Budgeting for 2014: Technology, content and social to be top spending areas | B2B Management Budgeting | #TheMarketingAutomationAlert | ThomasSkinneee | Scoop.it
BtoB Magazine features the latest digital marketing news, tips, strategies and resources for b2b digital marketers.

Digest...

As B2B marketers begin their budgeting process for 2014, they say the top areas where they'll increase spending are marketing automation technology, content marketing, social media and mobile.

Marketing automation is reaching maturity among b2b marketers, according to recent BtoB research, and it is expected to be an important investment area next year.

In BtoB's “2013 Marketing Automation” study, 81% of respondents said they will have strong or complete adoption of marketing automation systems by next year, up from 62% this year. Fifty-two percent said they will have complete adoption of marketing automation technology—fully integrating it into their sales and marketing organizations—up from 26% this year. The study was based on an online survey of 204 b2b marketers conducted in May.

Forty-two percent of respondents said they would set aside new funds for marketing automation technology over the 12 months following. Others will shift funds from other areas, including digital marketing (34%), email or direct marketing (31%), events (18%), print advertising (16%) and broadcast advertising (4%).

Marketers will also increase their use of paid social media next year. According to BtoB's “Emerging Trends in B2B Social Marketing” report, published in March, the top paid social media channels marketers will use in the coming year are LinkedIn (59%), Facebook (53%), Twitter (28%), YouTube (18%) and Google+ (13%).

Children’s Entertainment in Dubai

infozone's curator insight, June 13, 2013 12:14 AM

Dubai is steadily making its way on to more and more travelers’ “must visit” lists this year. The incredible amount of investment and thought put into making the city a tourist’s haven has created not only a destination for the rich and famous, but a wonderful place for a family to vacation. Regardless of this idea of it being a millionaire’s playground, it is also a wonderful place for a family with children.

There are plenty of excellent attractions for children to attend in the area as well, including places that will allow you and the other adults in your party to enjoy a day to yourselves while your children are being cared for.

One of the best places to bring your children is to Children’s City. This is an excellent place to enjoy attractions that are both educational and fun that your child will remember for years. The pricing is extremely inexpensive for the quality of the entertainment, which should make it no problem for large families to attend without breaking the budget. It is open throughout each weekday giving you plenty of time to visit.

For those looking for an experience that they can enjoy on a very hot day in Dubai, look no further than Aqua Play water park. This is phenomenal experience for any family with children who love to swim and get wet. The park boasts numerous rides and attractions sure to fit various ages and even entertain parents. The games that they have can get even teens involved in the fun ensuring that no one goes home unhappy.

For those looking for Dubai hotels to stay in that are child friendly, there is nothing better than the Atlantis in Dubai. This is easily the leading hotel for children because it will allow you to engage them in various activities such as swimming with dolphins, waterparks, and even scuba diving lessons.

Additionally, there are events for teenagers and other aged children. There are “kid zones” and even teen club where older children will be able to meet other teens their age in order to mingle and find more people to spend time with.

No matter the age of your children, there will be plenty of activities that they can enjoy in Dubai. This is a premier place for adults to relax and children to play which makes it one of the top destinations to travel to this year.

Researchers Explain How Brands Make You Fall In Love

Researchers Explain How Brands Make You Fall In Love | ThomasSkinneee | Scoop.it
Brands spend millions of dollars trying to make consumers fall in love with them, and according to C.W. Park, director of the Global Branding Center at USC’s Marshall School of Business, these attempts are usually miserable failures. "If you really ask people, they have only vague understandings about each brand," says Park. "Or they’re not aware of many brands in the first place."

Peter A Bell's curator insight, June 9, 2013 12:41 PM

Will Euan McColm be that last person to abandon the foolish myth that Alex Salmond wanted a "more powers" option on the referendum ballot? Will he be the last one to realise that his offer to consider such an option IF the British parties were to formulate the offer was a trap that Cameron and the rest duly blundered into?

It seems likely, given that McColm is so detached from the reality of Scottish politics that he sees this stupid tactical error as "smart politics". He continues to suppose rejecting a devo-whatever option was a deviously clever move months after all the British parties realised their mistake and started flailing around trying to find ways of pretending a No vote is actually a vote for what they flatly refused to entertain.

It may be understandable that unionist politicians are reluctant to admit that Salmond duped them into committing to the least popular option - the status quo. Can it be that McColm is embarrassed on their behalf? Or is he just to shallow-minded and blinkered to what is obvious to anyone with but a smidgeon of analytical skill?
