The iEARN coordinators of Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, UAE, Yemen and Qatar will be meeting hosted by iEARN-Qatar in Doha, Qatar from July 16 to 17 to establish the iEARN-Arabia entity and clearly define its vision, mission, goals, status and format.

 

Among iEARN-Arabia’s foreseen goals are to share and develop educational resources in the Arabic language, as well as to support the running and spreading of iEARN activities in the member countries.

 - A 30% higher pass rate for high-achieving students compared to peers in traditional AP classes in comparison schools in the same district

iEARN Pakistan, in partnership with the US Embassy, Islamabad manages the largest Access program in the world.

While participating in the Aspire Awards this spring, students had the opportunity to learn a range of skills, including technical expertise, verbal and visual storytelling, teamwork, and exhibition.

 

It’s got us thinking, what have educators and youth mentors observed inside and outside of the classroom? What successes can we build on, to ensure that today’s generation of young people continue to grow in step with a rapidly changing world?

iEARN educator, Adobe Youth Voices Online Course Facilitator, and Deputy Principal, Charli Wiggli in Durban South Africa, has been working with the Society for the Blind with students at his school to create Braille memory cards, educational aids and MP3 for the Society’s visually impaired members.

 

Charli and students at Eden College would like to invite more teachers and students from around the world to participate in this much needed service initiative. The project website contains information on how to get involved with your students, examples of student work, and touching quotes from students explaining what it has meant to them to be a part of this project.
