Many education districts in the US require students to perform a number of hours of community service in order to graduate from high school. However, this practice is not widespread in the USA and almost unknown in other parts of the world – especially in third world nations.
Now in order to test this concept on schools here in Pakistan I ventured out together with my peers from the iEARN Pakistan – KLYES (Kennedy Luger Youth Exchange & Study) program to the Fauji Foundation Model School....
Five NSLI-Y scholarship recipients arrive in Taiwan and begin their intensive Chinese language program. Students will live with host families and attend classes in Mandarin Chinese at a local college for the 2012-2013 academic year.

The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), in collaboration with U.S. Embassy Dhaka and iEARN, will host a Youth TechCamp in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from September 16-18, 2012. A signature series hosted by the State Department to raise digital literacy, Youth TechCamp Bangladesh will engage Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program alumni.
