To visualize the model that reflects the state of new media, I once again partnered with my good friends at JESS3. The result…The Brandsphere.

Social networks and channels present brands with a broad array of media opportunities to engage customers and those who influence them. Each channel offers a unique formula for engagement where brands become stories and people become storytellers. Using a transmedia approach, the brand story can connect with customers differently across each medium, creating a deeper, more enriching experience. Transmedia storytelling doesn’t follow the traditional rules of publishing; it caters to customers where they connect and folds them into the narrative.....

Reaction-Based Curation Platforms: Percolate

Reaction-Based Curation Platforms: Percolate | ThinkinCircles | Scoop.it

Percolate is an online platform that curates content from Twitter and RSS feeds. The sheer amount of information that passes through a typical social media user’s path in a day can be tremendously overwhelming.

Percolate, however, using an algorithm, will organize content according to what you’re interested in.

What’s so innovative about Percolate is how much emphasis is placed on reaction.

With buttons like “awesome,” “interesting,” and of course the Internet-friendly “win” and “fail,” Percolate lets you say what’s on your mind. Furthermore, users are able to add a tag of their own to customize the experience further.

Percolate is also an apt business tool in that it allows brands to not only to create content, but also identify content related to the business itself.

Sydney Artist, Layar Vision, BuildAR & Floating Fishy Augmented Reality Game Thing

Sydney Artist, Layar Vision, BuildAR & Floating Fishy Augmented Reality Game Thing | ThinkinCircles | Scoop.it

The default AR content that the pieces will have includes a game called ‘Fishy Kitty’, but more will be rolled out over time. These games use vision-based recognition to launch the game and then location-based AR to spread the markers (e.g. the gold fish bowls in the game) around you.

Rob Manson, Co-Founder of buildAR says:

“We love working with Yiying and the beautiful artwork she creates. Together we’ve created a whole new retail model for augmented reality by enabling people to attach their own hidden messages, 3d objects and other content to the amazing WALLS 360 wall art. Now, putting one of these artworks on your wall is just thebeginning. They create a digital doorway through which new and exciting creations will leaping out at you”
