Food hitting our plates with who knows what pumped into it and growing economic uncertainty. We took the seeds in our pockets and every square foot we owned and went about like mad scientists testing out innovative ideas from all around world and making them work in one of the most blighted neighborhoods in the US. UMass Amherst is one of the first universities in the nation to begin growing a permaculture garden directly outside of their dining halls to feed the campus community local, fresh, nutrient dense foods.
Τhis video series takes an in depth look at the first phase necessary for completion of the garden: Soil Preparation. Through the perspectives of key figures involved in the planning of the project, we learn of the origins and the obstacles to its implementation.
