The dryads are the beautiful tree-nymphs; very closely associated with trees and each dryad has a particular tree with which she herself is closely linked.

 

The dryads live close to these trees always but they do not live in the tree.

 

A subclass of these demigoddesses is well known as the hamadryads and they were always associated with a particular tree and it is these nymphs who live within the tree itself....

The phoenix is a fabulous sacred firebird

(mentioned in the Phoenician legends and the Egyptian and later the Greek mythos)...

 

The phoenix is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor...

 

According to the Greeks the bird lives in Arabia, nearby a cool well.

 

Each morning at dawn, it would bathe in the water and sing such a beautiful song, that the sun-god stops his chariot to listen.

 

The Phenix would feed upon oils of balsalm and frankinsense...

 

There exists only one phoenix at the time...

A domovoi (dom=a house) is a house spirit, a masculine one, usually rather short, old and very hairy.

 

They also have a long grey beard and tails or horns and live with people.

 

They are believed in the Russian folklore to be the masters of the house they inhabit.

 

A domovoi usually helps the family with domestic chores, of course, if he’s treated well (given milk and biscuits or bread), and guards the house.

 

Some people say that a domovoi can turn into cats and dogs, and...
