The Yale is a mountain dweller antelope- or goat-like four-legged creature with large horns that it can swivel in any direction.

 

The name might be derived from Hebrew "yael", meaning "mountain goat"..

 

This creature is native to the land of Aithiopia (Ethiopia) (sub-Saharan Africa), but mentioned in some tales throughout Europe...

Catoblepas, Katobleps

The Katobleps is a four-legged bull-like creature from Ethiopia with a head that is large for its body, and blood-shot eyes that always look down.

(Catoblepas is Greek for "that which looks downward.)

 

It has a "high and thick" eyelids, and a long hanging mane.

 

Like the Basilisk, it can kill any creature merely by looking at it.
