Back in 2010, The Wall Street Journal first uncovered evidence of an NSA program called Perfect Citizen, which was designed to detect cyber assaults on things like power grids, nuclear plants, and other critical infrastructure.

Being concerned about privacy is always a good thing.. but I would be more concerned about what if (or when) the first strikes hit home and there is no system to detect let alone prevent those attacks. I'm afraid that the issue is too complex and a single agency (however powerful) cannot possibly "monitor all and everything and then some".
