Is Snapchat Secretly About To Launch Smart Glasses?

Is Snapchat Secretly About To Launch Smart Glasses? | The Twinkie Awards | Scoop.it
Snapchat is known for some bold moves when it comes to adding new and sometimes, perplexing features. It is also known for its rather interesting monetisation strategy. But we’ve never been aware of the company looking into developing hardware. Until now, according to a report from CNET.

Via Brian Yanish - MarketingHits.com

Tommy Donovan's curator insight, March 15, 6:25 PM
Snapchat emerged and quickly became a favorite among the top social sights and apps. They are different than other top social media sights in that you send pictures and videos to friends directly, not post to a general forum. since then, they have evolved into a greater company. Snapchat has experimented with many different aspects of the growing online database of today. They have touched on e-commerce by allowing you to send money to friends over the app which was a little skeptical to users. Now, Snapchat is in the process of developing hardware for they're app. Using the idea and design of Google Glass, Snapchat is currently remodeling the hardware  to fit their own style. What all could be different between Google Glass and Snapchat's own? Possibly the ability to snap a picture of whatever you are looking at and instantly add it to your story. Or maybe the ability to live broadcast your views to your friends.. the possibilities are limitless with Snapchat's room for growth.

(From the article): No one can know for sure what the future of content will be, but you can see the elements I described in this post already showing up in the very best content today. Even though they aren’t requirements in today’s content world, improving your content now will only improve your results in the future. You can either take the easy route, hoping that the standards of content won’t change, and do nothing, or you can up the level of your content and stay ahead of the masses.

How to Monitor & Measure Social Media for Customer Service & More

How to Monitor & Measure Social Media for Customer Service & More | The Twinkie Awards | Scoop.it
Social Media For Customer Service

“Customer Service is the new marketing,” says Dan Gingriss, head of digital customer experience and social media, Discover Financial Services. Here are just some of data-backed reasons that brands should be motivated to explore the benefits of social media monitoring that make social customer service possible:

67% of consumers have used a company’s social media site for servicing (J.D. Power and Associates).
78% of active Twitter users are mobile; 81% for Facebook.
33% of users even prefer to contact brands using social media rather than the telephone (Nielsen).
71% of customers say that valuing their time is the most important thing a company can do to provide good service (Forrester).
Failure to respond via social channels can lead to a 15% increase in the churn rate for existing customers (Gartner).
And, there’s another payoff, too: A Gartner study found that social agents are able to handle four to eight times as many issues per hour as a phone agent (Gartner 2012).

Brace Yourself For The 2016 Digital Re-Org. - Forrester | The Twinkie Awards | Scoop.it
Our key findings from the survey are:

Headcount Growth Plateaus As Operating Model Shifts. Digital headcount growth has plateaued, with teams averaging 94 people, down from 95 in 2014 and 103 in 2013. Technology Skills Aren’t The Biggest Headache Anymore. Technology skills are still hard to find, but roles like analytics and product management are increasingly vital, and much harder to source. Reorganizations Loom. The drive for customer obsession and better cross-functional collaboration will necessitate fundamental reorganizations that challenge old product and channel structures. Progressive digital teams will initiate these discussions in their firms in 2016.
