Recruiters Attract Top Local Talent with a Marketing Mindset

Recruiters Attract Top Local Talent with a Marketing Mindset | The Twinkie Awards | Scoop.it

Hiring Managers Must Sell Top Local Talent on Company, Not Compensation

Getting the best and brightest candidates to buy in and accept that job offer comes down to mindset, not more money. It's important to learn the ways to promote your content using the available channels. This is a helpful article that provides a few great ideas to consider in your digital strategy.

(From the article):

Changing your lede or lead helps the content stay fresh; try to come up with three different ways to pose one title.Ask questions. For instance, for this post, I could change my lead or pose a question (depending on the platform/if I had room) to say. “Are you doubling your content distribution efforts with a promo schedule?”Add hashtags to help searchers find your content.Tag people and ask them to weigh in (IF you have a good relationship; don’t spam peeps).Use pity quotes or stats from the article as a new lead.As mentioned, use Click To Tweet to create snackable, shareable bites.Reference your article — WHEN RELEVANT —  in online conversations. Again, don’t be spammy.

Today is the day of honesty (yeah, I just created that day.) So let`s be totally honest; you are REALLY fed up. Fed up by not having enough traffic to your blog... fed up by not having enough social shares... fed up by not having enough comments... fed up by not having enough email subscribers. But worst of all... ...you are so freakin` fed up by being invisible in the overcrowded blogosphere. Sounds familiar? No worries. I have been there too. Seth Godin always packs a punch in his blog.  This piece features two great examples as an important reminder of why you need to define your story and audience. Your story attracts people who see themselves in it. A well-defined story that says who you are and who you create products for won't include everybody. There are universal elements to story; however, when you decide who your audience really is, your story takes on a new level of specificity and connection. Are you designing for women who love hats as fashion statements? Are you designing for audio enthusiasts who invest in high-end equipment? It matters. Storytelling is meant to connect you with your tribe, your ideal audience. Be clear on who you are so you can attract the people who share that passion, belief, and interest.

Seth Godin always delivers - this shows two great examples of how important is it to relate your story to your audience. Your story connects to people who see themselves in it. A well-defined story will not include everybody. When you decide who your ideal customer really is, your story takes on clarity and specificity. Your story should reflect exactly what your customer wants and needs. If you sell rugby jerseys, a picture of you (or a friend) at a rugby match wearing a jersey, will immediately speak to your ideal customer. He will feel like you understand him and if you have a great story around how you started, his jersey takes on a whole new persona. He can tell that story every time he has the jersey on! He is admired, feels important and special. Stories are meant to connect you to your tribe, your ideal audience. Be clear on who you are to be able to attract the same person who shares in your passion and interests and ultimately your products or services.
