The Stevie D. Show with Singer Songwriters Warren Michael and Billy Keane | The Stevie D. Show | Scoop.it
The Stevie D. Show is a Live Chat Show on Actors Entertainment, a channel on the Actors Podcast Network, a Pepper Jay Production.
Pepper Jay's insight:

Warren Michael
Warren Michael, born (Warren Michael Moodie), singer, songwriter, and composer is more than an aspiring musical talent. He is a musical storyteller who articulates his personal experiences and ideas masterfully in his music. He has the rare ability to write and compose music that is diverse in genre and therefore appealing to a diverse and ageless audience. Warren Michael is currently working on completing his first solo album project called Dream.
He recently recorded and released a legal cover version of the song, All of Me by John Legend. Warren Michael is featured on this song as Michael Moo along with his daughter Kaneen, which was recorded and released by his brother Andrew Robinson of Switzerland on his label Swiss Jam Records.
Warren Michael was born April 4, 1974 in St. Catherine Jamaica, West Indies. He is the third to last born of eight siblings. His mother, Hazel Redwood, is a gifted gospel song writer and singer with an angelic voice. She was and still is very active in her church ministry and she loves to minister with song. As a child, Warren Michael was always close to music. He looked up to his older brother who was a musician as well and he started singing in their family church choir at the young age of four years old.
In 1987, Warren Michael performed with Genesis Gospel Band at a gospel festival and won first place in the gospel competition. Warren’s talent was raw and natural, and he went on to represent his church and schools in many singing competitions.
At age 19, Warren Michael began working as a barber in the daytime, and a resident singer at the Club Caribbean Hotel with a band called Legal at night. He later recorded two Singles called Let’s Talk It Over and I Was Lost featuring Gabby Don on the Roof Label for Producer Cortney Cole.
Warren Michael left Jamaica at the age of 26 to pursue his music career in Los Angeles. He soon found that his dream would have to be delayed with the starting of a family and his new financial obligations. He laid his talents to rest until this past April when his brother Andrew Robinson came to visit from Switzerland, and he gave Warren Michael a new microphone and a mini synthesizer for a birthday gift.
A few days later, Andrew, Warren Michael, and Warren’s daughter Kaneen recorded the cover version of All of Me by John Legend. Warren was inspired to once again pursue his dream of making his own music and since that time, he has set up a small home studio and written and composed eleven hit songs for his album project.
Warren is finally in a place in his life where he is able to fully engage himself in his music and his creativity is flowing full force. He is ready to work at and live his dream.

Billy Keane / Burnin’ Music
Billy Keane is a contemporary folk and blues singer and songwriter, infusing compelling story telling with solid, technical guitar styling. His performances are intimate and powerful, exposing the audience to his passionate and thought provoking music time and time again. He has had the honor of sharing the stage with many other noted songwriters, from Jackie Greene to Catie Curtis, and even the wildly talented and acclaimed star, James Taylor.

While incorporating his love for old time folk and blues into his songwriting, Billy has developed a unique and decidedly new approach to the genre of indie folk. Rhythmically intriguing, melodically inspiring and lyrically intellectual, Billy Keane is a songwriter and performer who will stand the test of time and will enthrall his audiences for years to come.

The Story:

Billy has been writing and performing his work for many years. To him, music is a passionate connection to people and to the world; a connection without which he may have found himself lacking any other.

Billy writes and plays and aspires to be relevant. He creates a bond with his listeners, whether in person or on record, that resembles those ties long sought after in the days of traditional folk music and storytelling. “Those days”, though perhaps echoed nostalgically in some circles, resound prominently in Billy Keane’s tunes and performances.

Billy spent some years away from songwriting, during a period of searching that found him all across the country in many different forms. He moved to Brooklyn, NY at 18 to attend college and study philosophy and writing, and left within 6 months to attain a worldly education; the kind that can only be found amongst the real, and not from without it. He traveled to Africa, and then back to his home state of Connecticut, where tried school a second time, before a second time craving reality. He moved to Seattle, and learned to become a deep sea commercial diver. Louisiana called him next and he spent two years working in the Gulf of Mexico as a diver, acquiring a strong taste for New Orleans and it’s musical heritage. Finally, as passions are like to do, songwriting dug in it’s tireless claws and he found himself back north in the Berkshires, Massachusetts where he still resides today.

Pepper Jay's insight:

Jon B is a consummate artist, an accomplished musician and noted songwriter and producer with several gold and platinum records under his belt. His is a richly textured body of music, a testament to one man’s love for all things soul.

Jon’s long-awaited new album Entitled “Comfortable Swagg,” features Jon’s signature style known to his fans around the world with the first single “Only One” . This album features DJ Quik on the sophisticated funky sounding track “Fill Your CUP”. Its definitely a return to old familiar sounds as well as discovery of new ones…

His beginning were seasoned with early influences of Duran Duran, Inxs, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Babyface, Prince and Sade, he spent his senior yr of high school writing, producing and recording 40 incredible songs and began making his rounds to all major record labels. Within a few months, he’d met Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and his wife, Tracy Edmonds, who were interested in signing Jon to their label imprint, Edmonds Record Group (formerly Yab Yum).

The relationship between Jon and Edmonds Record Group immediately bore fruit. His debut album “Bonafide” went platinum and he was nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals for the single, “Someone to Love.” His sophomore effort “Cool Relax” also went platinum and earned him multiple Billboard Music Award nominations including Top R&B Artist, Top Hot R&B Single for “They Don’t Know/Are U Still Down,” Top Hot R&B Singles Artist and a Soul Train Music Award nomination for Best Male Single. “Are U Still Down” featuring the legendary Tupac Shakur collaborating with Jon in the studio, before his death in Sept of 1996. Jon also solidified his production sound with a collaboration with Jay Z and Coko (from SWV) featured on the “Hav Plenty sound track”

Continuing to produce his third album “Pleasures U like” featuring some of R&B and Hip Hop’s heavy weights, Faith Evan’s, Nas, Az, and Cuban Link, as well as the successful single “Don’t Talk” produced and written by Jon. His appreciation for the music and the culture aloud him to have innovative idea’s and express his influence in many genre’s of musical styles, R&B, Hip Hop, Rock, Reggae/Dance Hall, and Jazz… following the versatile styling’s of his previous album’s. ” I am not an artist who can be pinned down to one sound or style”. “You can’t put me in a box that I can’t break myself out of, by just making the style of track that I’m vibing to and writing a great song to it, no limitations…”

Jon later went on to write and produce records for Luther Vandross ( “Grown Thangs”), Toni Braxton ( “In the late of night” ), also songs for Gina Thompson, Color Me Badd, Az Yet, as well as remixing Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone”.

“Stronger Everyday” Jon’s forth release was another gem of an album full of amazing track’s and collaboration’s with Hip Hop legend’s like Scarface , Old Dirty Bastard, and Bennie Man. Jon scored a top ten video on the U.K. MTV/ TRL Top Ten with the song “Everytime (remix featuring Beenie Man) Jon co produced with Just Blaze. In 2008 he released “Helpless Romantic” Keeping the tradition alive of the classic R&B sound that captivates. This album was more self contained with few collaborations but atmospheric, romantic songwriting. Helpless Romantic was Jon getting back to the basic’s of writing, producing, and singing with the single “Oo so sexy” featuring Paul Wall reaching #11 on the R&R charts .

Now settled with his family, and own label “Vibezelect Inc.”Jon B has finely obtained the creative freedom that he always wanted… Now in the pilots seat in every aspect of his career, the hunger to deliver a fresh sounding thorough album is without question his main focus. This album sounds innovative in the way that Jon presses the creative envelope with track’s like “GOIN DOWN” produced and co-written by ADONIS (best known for his hit’s with Usher). This album has true diversity with dance tracks for the club and easy chill tracks for the bedroom. He is so excited to be back! Not only to come back to the people who wondered, where has he been? But to satisfy that inner calling, to express whats going on in his life. Who is Jon B today? This album is a great way to get to know where this creative gentlemen is at mentally, romantically, and musically…

“Comfortable Swagg” the newest release from Jon B. enjoy…..

Comic Danny Cho Rocks the Stevie D. Show

Comic Danny Cho Rocks the Stevie D. Show | The Stevie D. Show | Scoop.it
Pepper Jay's insight:

Danny Cho is an Asian American comedian/actor. Danny got his first taste of comedy during the 2nd grade when we was in a spelling bee. He misspelled the word zucchini because of ignorance. (He spelled it Z-O-O-K-I-N-I). The audience roared in laughter, while Danny felt as though he failed his family and his people.
During the summer of 2000, Danny then took a real shot at standup comedy through a dare from his high school friends. Like any hormonal/prideful teenager, Danny took the dare and performed at the nearest open mic night competition which happened to be a café in South Central LA. To make a long story short, Danny did well enough to win the competition.
Being bit by the comedy bug, Danny started performing stand-up during his stay at UCLA. He performed shows at the Laugh Factory and the Improv, both in Hollywood. However, through the pressures of his conservative parents, Danny joined the corporate world as a business consultant. Nevertheless, he still performed comedy at shows all over Southern California and occasionally at out of state universities. In 2006, while still working as a business consultant, Danny had his first national tv acting gig on Mad TV. Danny played Pongo, a fat/mute Thai movie critic alongside Bobby Lee. Danny played that character for several episodes on Mad TV.
In 2007, Danny hated his career as a business consultant so much that he quit. He hated the job so much he would go to the local bar and drink so much hoping to get a DUI so he can miss work. He decided that he needed to be a full time comedian and actor. Danny recently was in a Bud Light Commercial, which aired during the SuperBowl. He played an Asian foreign exchange student that tries to hit on American girls. Initially, Danny was afraid that this character would set back the progress that Asians Americans were making in the media, but the hunger and bills outweighed that worry and he took the gig.
In the last few years, Danny has been in various commercials and tv shows, and movies. He has a reoccurring role on Parks and Recreation, as China Joe. In addition, Danny has been traveling around the world for his stand up comedy tour. Recently, Danny wrote a screenplay titled Ktown Cowboys, that will has be selected to screen during South by Southwest in 2015. With an other feature in the works, Danny is still doing stand up all over the world and is gearing for his 2nd DVD special!

This Los Angeles native has studied and traveled the world. She earned a diploma from the famed La Sorbonne in Paris and lived and worked in Southeast Asia and French speaking Québec. This global perspective affords Cheryl an intriguingly rich reservoir of cross-cultural facts, techniques, and references to draw upon as she plies her craft and cooking talents.

While running her boutique catering company Cheryl garnered accolades and a celebrity A-list following for her beach BBQ’s and contemporary cuisine with a homespun twist. “As a kid we moved to New Orleans and it was here that I fell in love with Cajun flavors and all things Southern.”

Cheryl and her late father Charles, an industrial engineer, welded together a portable mesquite grill made from a discarded barbecue, several chunks of scrap metal and a hand truck that they found at junkyard on a road trip to Sacramento. The versatile apparatus was given the moniker ‘Chuck’ and could be set up at catering venues as varied as the sandy beaches of Malibu to the remote enclaves of the Hollywood Hills. To this day her dry spice rub mixture remains top secret, although a copy of the recipe is kept locked up in a safety deposit box in Century City, away from the prying eyes of the food police.

Currently, Cheryl stars as the gregarious chef and host of Aol’s Kitchen Daily, an internet video series of delicious recipes and professional chef tips for the busy cook in every family’s home. She recently starred in an episode of I Do Over for weTV, in which she designed one lucky couples’ wild and totally edible Candy Land-inspired desert bar. She also designed one lucky couples lavish dream wedding on TLC’s The Wedding Wars. Cheryl also stars in the Style Network series, The Big Party Plan Off! This unique program immerses the audience in the fanciful world of designing the perfect party from thematic conception to prop and decor building to inventing apt and delicious foods and beverages.

Cheryl was selected as one of the country’s top Food Stylists, and she competed on The Food Network Challenge Series–Superstar Food Stylists, where she brought her vivacious spirit and can-do attitude to this grueling culinary battle. Cheryl has styled commercial campaigns for the likes of T.G.I. Fridays, Wendy’s, Sara Lee, Sears, El Torito, Hometown Buffet, Burdine’s, Kelloggs, Albertsons, Toll House Cookies, and many others. She works alongside many of the industries top directors, and she created the food centerfold for FOOD & WINE Magazines Celebrity Chef issue. Cheryl also served as the host of the Travel Channel series, Food Crazy, in which she guided viewers through a plethora of culinary voyages from eating insects at authentic Asian restaurants to exploring the world of poultry at the Butterball Turkey test kitchen in Chicago to uncovering cures for ice cream-induced brain freeze on the sidewalks of suburbia. Cheryl spent her childhood learning the intricacies of cooking, baking, decor, and party planning at the side of her Mom, a home economics teacher.

Cheryl has been a frequent voice of gastronomic secrets and lifestyle advice on the Emmy-winning talk show Soap Talk (with Lisa Rinna). Her segments included how to make Engagement Chicken and how to fashion an unforgettable theme party. She has also appeared as a guest chef on The Tony Dana Show and You’re Invited, and she is a featured contributor to celebrations.com, expertvillage.com, She Knows TV’s Corner Kitchen and Walmart’s Make it at Home where she regularly dishes up in dispensable culinary counsel.
