I selected this article from Curatti written by Shane Barker because it provides information on how to increase engagement on social media.

It's important to have a community that is interested in your brand content.

Drive Up Your Social Media Conversations

As you grow your audience online you will want to build lasting relationships with them. I agree that in order to encourage engagement you need to review your current strategy and make adjustments.

Barker explains how to post content that people will want to respond to.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Include humor in your tweets and posts. People want to be entertained, not just informed. Include images and relatable captions.

  • You will improve your chances of being seen if you include great images. There are free online programs that can help you achieve this.

  • Publish more video content -- these tend to get more reactions and feedback. Do this in between your images in a balanced way.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Susan Gilbert because it helps you improve your visual marketing with shareable infographics.

Visual graphics can be both fun and informative for your niche audience.

Create Infographics That Grow Your Following Online

People are drawn to appealing content that grabs their attention right away. I agree that infographics can help attract more subscribers and followers.

Gilbert shows you how to create graphics that audiences are more willing to share.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Find out what is on the minds of your target market the most before designing your infographic. Make sure the content is both timely and relevant.

  • Focus on a specific group inside your niche and appeal to their pressing problems and needs. Make good on what your title promises to them.

  • If you have a study or a lot of data put it into a fun infographic. This is a great way to turn boring content into something interesting.

What Are the New Rules for Engaging an Online Community?

What Are the New Rules for Engaging an Online Community? | The Social Network Times | Scoop.it

Marketing and public relations’ role within professional organizations has shifted drastically with the advent of the online community. Now there’s a greater emphasis placed on storytelling. Traditionally, organizations would simply broadcast news, or channel it through the media – observe the reaction, then respond on a flexible timetable. Today, branding isn’t simply about beaming out a message. It’s about building trust with end-users, telling a compelling story and creating two-way social streams of dialogue.

Social Media Leadership Rules

Social Media Leadership Rules | The Social Network Times | Scoop.it

If Napoleon lived in the technology era, would he have a Twitter account? I bet he would. Presidents, business magnates, social activists… everyone is on social media nowadays. It’s not just about connecting with the audience and informing them about the activities these leaders are involved in. It’s about leading. Social media allows them to expand their leadership to a wider audience.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is a nice example of how politicians can use social media to connect with their citizens and the entire world. He uses his Instagram profile to promote everything he is doing, but he also uses the opportunity to awaken the public’s awareness of different issues. He improves the way people perceive his leadership by allowing everyone to post comments and ask questions. In January 2017, Trudeau became the first politician to host a live story on Snapchat.

Your website may need a major upgrade in order to stay current.

To attract subscribers your website needs to stand out online. I agree that a new design can help improve your chances.

Zolotaryova provides the right steps to take to make the necessary changes.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Before getting started it's important to analyze and narrow down your niche. For this to happen you need to take advantage of the right tools to learn more about what the competition is doing.

  • Use organic search methods to attract website traffic. Include a set of words and phrases that reflect your brand -- known as semantic core.

  • Perform a technical audit such as your URLs, Meta tags and titles, any broken links, ect. Fixing these errors will help more visitors see your website in search.

Learning in the age of Social Networks

Learning in the age of Social Networks | The Social Network Times | Scoop.it

Our understanding of how to learn in this globally connected world is limited by our experience of learning. Our formal education has led us to believe that learning is something given to us. We are one step removed from the process of planning and regulating our learning for so much of our lives as learners that we become dependent on educators. We have powerful tools at our disposal and yet make poor use of them. Networks which should bring us closer together are used to divide and segregate. Instead of enhancing our collective understanding we are confronted by the challenges of alternate facts and fake news. We have an abundance of information but seemingly little wisdom and little understanding of who we may trust and how we may find truth.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Ian Naylor because it explains how to develop a strong social media strategy that works for your business.

It's important to build solid objectives in order to be successful in social media marketing.

Common Social Media Mistakes

While you can create a social media account and begin tweeting or posting this will not guarantee solid growth. I agree that it takes focus and dedication to get real results.

Naylor explains what to avoid and how to properly grow your social brand.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Avoid spreading yourself too thin on too many networks. Focus on one and then move up from there. It takes time and dedication to develop your community.

  • Include the human touch in your accounts rather than just relying on automation or standard content. When people see the same messages they become bored quickly and move on.

  • It's important to include video as a part of your marketing strategy. People are especially drawn to this medium -- especially live stream broadcasts.

Social networks: time for a repurposing spring clean? | The Social Network Times | Scoop.it

Social networks, platforms, apps and programmes have given me a lot to be grateful for. Presence, insight and people. Mostly people.

No-one wrote the user manual for any of these as we made the protocols up as we found out about them. It has been the ultimate discovery journey.

What I’ve seen in and around June 2016 and beyond hasn’t been quite so fulfilling and useful though. Vitriol. Abuse. Anger. Hatred. To the point that these incidents occurred and I stepped back.
