For content marketers that are looking to increase content production and save time, content curation is the answer. In addition, your audience will thank you for exposing them to new sources of 3rd party, independent content. In fact, according to a recent study, best-in-class marketers use a content marketing mix of 65% created content and 25% curated content.

It scares me to think that education could be entirely digital eventually. There is so much to learn from a good discussion, face-to-face interactions with others, and from printed materials. I believe in the integration of technology but not for everything. I also wonder about those families (and YES they are out there) they do not have Internet access- how would that impact a student's learning?

Why Visual Content Matters in the Social Age [INFOGRAPHIC]

Why Visual Content Matters in the Social Age [INFOGRAPHIC] | The Social Network Times | Scoop.it

So many teens have social media and use a variety of sites!

Rachelle Wright's curator insight, May 15, 2015 3:17 PM

Only 10 percent of teenagers do not use social media.  I know one of my good friends has no social media.  It surprises me that she has not gotten at least Facebook yet.  Social media has never been something that was important to her.  I applaud her for that.  I like social media because I can see what my friends are up to and keep an eye on them.  The growth of Instagram has increased 5 percent while Facebook has decreased 9 percent in 2013.  Instagram and Snapchat are mostly used by teens ages 13 to 18.  61 percent of people use Tumblr and say it is their favorite.  I have never been on Tumblr.  I did not know it was that popular.  On social media sites 91 percent of people post photos of themselves.

The curation comment is interesting... I think it's fantastic that students are able to gain these skills without the assistance of a teacher, but ultimately if they veer off the path or have been misguided, they will always need a facilitator to not only show students the tools but also give them some best practice ideas.

10 Amazing #SocialMedia Statistics [INFOGRAPHIC] | The Social Network Times | Scoop.it
Did you know that Twitter is grabbing more new registrations than Facebook, with more than half of its entire userbase compromised of people who have signed up in the last year, compared to just 19 percent for Mark Zuckerberg’s baby?

What if I said that almost a quarter (23 percent) of Facebook users check their account five or more times each day, Twitter users are 33 percent more likely to be Democrats or – sorry Foursquare – that 74 percent of Americans are unfamiliar with the concept of ‘checking in’.

These, and several other amazing social media statistics, can be found in the infographic on social media statistics...
