Carb cycling

My trainer has suggested that carb cycling would be worth a try. I understand that it means some days I will have more carbs than others but could.
Bogdan Shmat's insight:

My thoughts:

I think this article went over different types of diets perfectly. It explained how one would withdraw from eating carbs aside from intense workout days in which the more carbs you take in, the more glycogen is pumped into your body. Learning more about nutrition will help me by helping my clients, when I'm a personal trainer, reach their goals.

My thoughts:

This article was very helpful because it gave several options besides personal training that would be beneficial tho those with an exercise physiology degree. I am now also interested in being a chiropractor or dwelving into the sports medicine field. Another viable option could be a strength and conditioning coach which is essentially a next tier personal trainer.

Alexander 's curator insight, November 26, 2013 11:49 AM

I now realize that with a physiology degree it opens the job possibilities up greatly. If becoming a personal trainer doesn't work out for me I can have other jobs that I could qualify for like a strength and conditioning coach or something in sports medicine. Sports medicine is a very broad topic with many jobs under its umbrella. This helps me greatly because now I can focus on schools that offer this degree and narrow my school choice down. Overall, this is a great article because it opened up to me what other jobs I could go into with just this one degree and you can have many possibilities to what job you want.

Ella Sesar's curator insight, April 16, 2014 12:09 AM

I liked how I could see how many years of school you need for each career. It makes me more interested in being in the sports medicine field next year. I'm really interested in being a physical therapist or a trainer myself. The more research I do the more I'll know about the career I want to have.

This was a detailed article on how to build muscle mass for a beginner. It talked about utilizing compound movements and having a nutritious diet. This is definetly something personal trainers would go in more depth on. I believe it should have discussed more about the importance of rest and recovery though.
