Kanye West's polarizing fourth studio album, 808s & Heartbreak, will soon be re-mastered and reissued on vinyl as part of a new reissue campaign from Uni.
Christian Golden's insight:

Vinyl's comeback is not only limited to albums that were originally released as vinyl LP's. Consumers are taking a particular interest in purchasing originally non-vinyl albums...in vinyl.

Hiller Burton's curator insight, August 15, 2014 4:54 PM

This is fascinating because here is an album that was originally recorded for digital consumption, and is being re-issued in vinyl because of the demand for this medium. It is also interesting being that this album is not highly ranked for Kanye West, yet there is still this demand for vinyl.

Even though vinyl records are an old and a bit out of date format to listen to music with, they still have great quality sound and that goes hand in hand with their recent increase in sales. A 745 percent increase is pretty big increase and it is really interesting to see them come back in a modern format like amazon. It is really amazing that such a traditional technology is being distributed through the modern internet.

This article really backs up the common knowledge that vinyl records have a rich, authentic sound that not many other formats of audio can produce. This topic is just starting to heat up but people don't seem to be getting too ahead of themselves because they are aware that these numbers are growing but it is at a small amount and it will take time. I find this topic to be personally interesting because I love the quality of sound that you get from vinyl records.

I'm adding this to my collection because it displays the way that vinyl is making it's way back into popularity among consumers.
