Killer Squirrels Movie: Actually Coming Soon! - The Hollywood Gossip

Killer Squirrels Movie: Actually Coming Soon! - The Hollywood Gossip | The Real Squirrels of McDaniel College | Scoop.it
Just when we thought the crappy movie wave had subsided, along comes Squirrels. Check out the trailer and poster now!
The Real Squirrels of McDaniel College's insight:

There is a movie being directed by Timur Bekmambetov called Killer Squirrels Movie that is expected to come out soon. The pre-sales trailer for Bekmambetov’s film has already been released onto the internet. I have seen the trailer and it appears that the movie is about squirrels having an uprising against humans. They have become even more hostile than they already are. Viewers’ response to the trailer seems to be the same to what many viewers thought about the TV movie, Sharknado. They seem to be shocked and amused that a film like this is actually being produced. I think that it is interesting that this film is being made because I believe that it could provide some insight into what could happen in the future. I mean, I feel as if the squirrels on my school’s campus are growing bolder and more antagonistic by the day so who knows, maybe this film will give an accurate look in future concerning squirrels.

Purdue is a college obsessed with squirrels - Purdue Exponent

Purdue is a college obsessed with squirrels - Purdue Exponent | The Real Squirrels of McDaniel College | Scoop.it
Purdue is a college obsessed with squirrels
Purdue Exponent
They are friendly, hilarious and plentiful. In Indiana, there are mainly three kinds of squirrels: fox squirrels, grey squirrels and red squirrels.
The Real Squirrels of McDaniel College's insight:

Well it seems that Purdue University, an institution based in the state of Indiana, is extremely fond of the squirrels on their campus. They made the Huffington Post’s list of the top twenty three colleges that were obsessed with the campus squirrels. Students from Purdue University claim the squirrels are “friendly, hilarious, and plentiful.” Plentiful is a reasonable word to use to describe college campus squirrels, but calling them friendly and hilarious is just stretching the truth a bit much. They are anything but friendly or hilarious in my opinion, well at least the ones who live at McDaniel College.

I am surprised that McDaniel College did not make the Huffington Post’s list to be honest. I have seen many students on McDaniel’s campus try to take pictures of the campus squirrels. I have even seen instances when students to try feed them or pet them because “their tails are so fluffy and cute.” They can do that and risk their fingers, but I will stick to my beliefs and keep my distance from McDaniel squirrels.

Gray Squirrel Hunting Season Opens in Florida

Gray Squirrel Hunting Season Opens in Florida | The Real Squirrels of McDaniel College | Scoop.it
The squirrels are members of the rodent family and can grow up to 20 inches long. They like wooded areas and spend most of their time on trees.
The Real Squirrels of McDaniel College's insight:

According to wctv.com, hunting season on Eastern gray squirrels has started in the state of Florida. The open season will last from October 12, 2013 to March 2, 2014. It appears that the gray squirrels are the only type of squirrels that have to endure a hunting season, since other squirrels within the state, like the Fox Squirrels, do not have an open hunting season for them.

I do not like squirrels one bit, especially the many Eastern gray squirrels who have made the college grounds of McDaniel College serve as their homes and habitats. However, I do think that it sucks that Florida gray squirrels have a hunting season on them. I may not like these creatures, but I cannot imagine ever wanting to purposely hurt or kill one of the squirrels from McDaniel or anywhere else. And I admit that I do feel bad whenever I happen to see a wounded or dead squirrel around McDaniel’s campus. I guess there is a little soft spot for them somewhere in my heart or maybe not.

Yale University Squirrels Missing | Observer | News and ...

Yale University Squirrels Missing | Observer | News and ... | The Real Squirrels of McDaniel College | Scoop.it
A "distressed senior" sent anonymous tip to Gawker yesterday claiming that "the administration paid to have all the squirrels on campus killed over the summer," before ending ominously: "There are no squirrels left at Yale."...
The Real Squirrels of McDaniel College's insight:

Apparently, Yale University’s number of campus squirrels is presently little to none. The population of squirrels that inhabited the institution has disappeared. An anonymous student from Yale contacted Gawker, a blogging based website, about the situation. The student claimed that Yale’s administration had them killed during the school’s summer break. The administration later rebutted this claim by stating that they have not made any attempts to exterminate the campus’ squirrels. Yet, other Yale students have noticed that there are no squirrels at the school. One student even goes on to say “despite their normal menacing of students, we’re definitely starting to miss them.” So it appears that there is something fishy going on at the university. If the squirrels at McDaniel College ever happen to disappear from the campus, I do not think that I would miss them. The campus would be different, but it would be a good kind of different to me. It would be nice. It would almost be like a utopia, maybe I am reaching.

Biologists Discover The Giantest Of All Giant Squirrels
Geekosystem
Well, I'll tell you, but prepare yourself: this squirrel is four feet wide. Four feet! That's basically as tall as Peter Dinklage!
The Real Squirrels of McDaniel College's insight:

It seems that a group of researchers from Thailand, Laos, and the United Kingdom have discovered a new type of flying squirrel called the Biswamoyopterus laoensis. This creature was found in Central Laos and the name apparently means “Laotian giant flying squirrel.” The average total length of this flying creep is about four feet. That is the length of a young child! Incredible you say? Well, incredibly terrifying I say! If the gray squirrels from McDaniel College’s campus! Just the fact that there are flying squirrels that exist upsets to me. But, now that I think about it, I am bit grateful for the Eastern gray squirrels that grace my school’s campus with their presence. I figure that it would be much worse if they could actually “fly.” That would make their chances of attacking me even higher I believe. I can deal with my gray squirrels, but just keep that Biswamoyopterus laoensis away from me.
