Why marketing isn't marketing anymore

Why marketing isn't marketing anymore | The rapidly evolving world of retail. | Scoop.it
The new marketers don’t just behave more analytically. They believe in product before content.
Eva Champagne's insight:

Product before content. Seems logical to me.  But Bruno Aziza is right to spell it out, as too often marketeers get all to wrapped up in the creative toplayer of their responsibilities. Marketing after all is the total of all activities needed to bring your product to market. This includes sales. And communication too. And product development. As a start-up, to me all activities, except maybe the accounting part, are marketing.

C'est pas mon idée !: Numérique dans l'assurance, pour quelle valeur ?

C'est pas mon idée !: Numérique dans l'assurance, pour quelle valeur ? | The rapidly evolving world of retail. | Scoop.it
Eva Champagne's insight:

Very interesting examples of a value-added use of digital technologies in the Insurance sector.

As demonstrated, I believe digital has multiple value added applications, specifically for the Insurance sector.

Prevention is a big plus; avoiding claims by pro-active reaching out to clients that could find themselves in hazardous situations to warn them beforehand. Tokyo Marine using gelocalised alerts is a great example. Exceptional customer service is another, exmplified by AXA UK during the London riots.

But I see more applications; fraud prevention thanks to digital monitoring is an obvious one.

How about accident prevention? Which Insurance company has already live-integrated with traffic control systems to warn their clients of imminent traffic dangers via their gps system?

And natural disaster management? Which insurance company is linking up its clients with advanced weather forecasts or climate threats to provide on the spot applicable advice and assistance?

There are so many possible applications thanks to the digitisation.  Important is to think through which ones will really add value, for the company, and for the client!

Eva Champagne's insight:

I wish similar figures for Europe were available. This report really provides clarity on the trend. And another point: i do agree that logistics and shipping companies are in for a boom. Definitely in Europe, were they are way less developed than in the US.
