Monica S Mcfeeters's curator insight, July 25, 2013 2:26 AM

This has link to Avaaz, an international activist group that watches many critical issues on a global scale and set up petitions that matter on a global scale. There is a link here....Join the global efforts in Watch-keeping and shaping the world for individual citizens.

The side of the New World Order that politicians and industry leaders like to think is a Global Economic Order has a sleeping giant, flip side they were hoping wouldn't wake up till the had "their plan" in place.

This flip side is the "Citizens of the Globe," that while all people like to hold to their special, unique local traditions they are also increasingly aware that many concerns of their neighborhood and families are the same very concerns of families and neighborhoods around the world.

Joining together to raise awareness and citizen participation to shape the world into a more livable, wonderful place is critical. Watching carefully we also begin to see the enemies of the global citizens....The company in this article is about as American as the next Yen or Euro it can make. Many multinationals interest are seeking to undermine local control of economies, media, communication and resources on a global basis.

government

I will point out that I'm not pushing for reactive knee jerk, mob bullies, as we saw in Hitler's time or in Russia during Lenin's time and later. I'm encouraging people to research, talk together, truly think together, share observations and participate in good justifiable arguments and conduct  that change the political will of leaders of governments and industry. For instance we can tell our leaders how we feel, call them, sign petitions then we can through actions vote those that seem to not represent us out of office and insist on non-industry insider to be placed in regulatory positions (that's the socialistic mix approach of working  through our government).Situation

Then we can also use the libertarian mix on an individual basis enough in numbers large enough to make it count and vote with our personal responsibility and choice of how we use our money. In this case we could zero in action together and no one buys a tomato they didn't grow or buy directly from a small farmer. Situation, by situation this could also work ...but only if you manage to get the word out. One person not buying GM tomatoes or big-ag's tomato will not make much of a change.

I think informed and attentive citizens make democracy and other governments work well. I am not recommending every issue is best addressed by popular vote. We all know of times when one group would vote to totally eliminate another group and that doesn't really make a better world.

Food and the Walmartization of Agriculture

Food and the Walmartization of Agriculture | The Rambling Epicure | Scoop.it

Julyu 2, 2013 Global Research

Walmart has become an icon of the corporate rush to keep costs low and profits high, regardless of the effects on society. They sell cheaply made goods—often produced in deplorable conditions—for low prices and keep overhead costs low by refusing to pay their workers a livable wage. It is this business strategy that catapulted them to be among the largest corporate interests in the world and allowed them to spread into virtually every corner of the United States....

The massive demand for food by our planet’s population and the proliferation of processed foods in the Walmartization of agriculture, has led to an increase in industrial mono-crop farming, particularly in regard to corn. The industrial mono-crop farming of corn is a very important part of this situation, as much of the world sweet-corn farming is used in the creation of high fructose corn syrup for processed foods. Virtually every processed food contains some amount of high fructose corn syrup, thus huge amounts of corn need to be grown. To make matters worse, American corn that is intended for high fructose corn syrup is commonly made out of GMO corn—oftentimes Monsanto “Roundup Ready” corn... http://www.globalresearch.ca/the-walmartization-of-agriculture/5336449
