» How Do You Find Happiness? - World of Psychology

» How Do You Find Happiness? - World of Psychology | The Power of Habits | Scoop.it
Happiness is defined as “a mental or emotional state of well-being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.”
HAPILABS's insight:

"Live Our “Best Life.”For starters we can begin by living what I like to call our “best life.” This consists of being the best version of ourselves we can be. It involves self-acceptance and no longer comparing ourselves to others. Living our best life also includes no longer using things to measure our happiness, but focusing on the feeling. Practicing mindfulness can also help us achieve happiness. In doing this we can fully experience the moment and learn to engage with each moment on its terms, taking things as they come. When we are able to accept things for what they are, we can be happier."

If You Want To Be Happy, Stop Comparing Yourself To Others

If You Want To Be Happy, Stop Comparing Yourself To Others | The Power of Habits | Scoop.it
Focus on improving yourself. ;
HAPILABS's insight:

This is a habit worth adopting. "If you want to be happy, stop comparing yourself to others." We know this already but it's true that it's more difficult to put this into practice. By learning the reaction pattern of people to feedback and comparing onesef to others, we understand that it is still a matter of chaging our automatic thinking and learning to modify our reactions that may change the way we feel about our own happiness. What this article actually points out is we need to be thinking less of others' achievements so that we  feel alot better about ourselves.
