The Power of your WORDS.

What words come out of your mouth .... "DEFINE YOU!"....

be very careful what you say!

All I know is ..... I am Blessed and...
Design Wordz's insight:

Agree. I have to admit that the minute someone opens their mouth I form an impression which, I know is not always ideal but I think intuition is a wonderfull thing and has held me in good stead all these years. Take the case of that English soccer player, model, father and husband to singer who is drop dead gorgeous to look at but OMG, the minute he opens his mouth I'm done! The infatuation is over.

But it goes beyond the spoken word. In my game the written word is just as important if not more so because it's enduring. I always tell my clients that the image of them and their business is reflected in everything they do, in particular how they communicate.

Thanks Fowler for sharing your insight and would love to talk further.

Design Wordz's insight:

I know they say a picture speaks a thousand words but to me this demonstrates that it is infact the immense power of words that can change the way people think. I love it.

Powerful words must entice, provoke, nurture, create visual images and stimulate emotions. Here is another example. It's my own. I wonder if you agree. It's taken from an article I wrote following the Black Saturday bushfires. To this day it still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. What do you feel and what images do you see when you read these words?

“….I’m on my own.  I can hear the fire as it races up the hills of Kinglake and I don’t know how to start the generator.  I cannot believe how quickly this fire is moving and I’m scared,” Karen Carr, Kinglake.

This is just one of the many horrific accounts of what unfolded for several Arabian horse people who were caught in the line of fire on Black SaturdayThis amazing account from Barbara Burton describes what she witnessed and experienced returning from work as the fire chased her home.

“On arriving home I put my fire plan into action for the horses. Then the fire caught me. The sky went black as midnight and I couldn’t see a thing. The horses went crazy.  I was standing there calling to them to let them know I was still there. It was raining fire.

“I ran into one of the stallion paddocks trying to put out embers but soon realised this was hopeless so I quickly returned to the house in an attempt to save it.  Then I saw the fireball coming at me and the house.  I knew I had no chance of saving anything and no choice other than to evacuate.

“Running to the shed I saw my horse float on fire and as I went to get into my car the shed started to collapse on top of it. I threw the burning beams off the car so I could get the car out.  I thought the only safe place to go would be the Kinglake township just three kilometers away but I was shocked to find it was on fire too.”

Whilst on one hand, Barbara’s account is an amazing story of survival, sadly she lost her house and two horses, one of which was 31 years old.  “It’s a complete wipeout. Everything is burnt to the ground,” she says.
