The failure of the U.S. corn harvests spells a disaster for the world's poor, but not because the poor eat our corn. They don't eat corn-fed livestock from CAFOs either, nor do they fill up at the pump with ethanol-blended gasoline.

Inside The 'Monsanto Protection Act'

Inside The 'Monsanto Protection Act' | The Politics of Food | Scoop.it
Learn all the scary facts about the "Monsanto Protection Act," which opponents call the Farmer Assurance Provision, which Congress approved as part of a spending bill that Obama has signed.
Cora Reed's insight:

Wow. He signed it. Good bye food chain. It was nice seeing you clean up, become more local, ethical, and edible. I knew what was in the act. I wrote to the white house, my elected elite. I am so angry right now I can barely see straight. This is the worst possible outcome of any bill in the last 50 years for the health and welfare of this country (and most of the world).

Way to say "Fuck the planet" President Obama. I am sad to see you are as owned by corporations as much as any other politician. I guess obesity, diabetes, empty nutrient food, cancer and early death are on the menu.

Have a nice day.
