Your Target Audience on Instagram With the Right Hashtags

Your Target Audience on Instagram With the Right Hashtags | The Perfect Storm Team | Scoop.it
For businesses and bloggers using Instagram, hashtags represent a gateway to your target audience. Here's a great strategy you can use

I selected this article from Curatti written by Jenn Herman because it provides insights into how to better grow your Instagram community with the right hashtags.

It's important to use the right keywords for your niche to grow your reach on Instagram.

Improve Your Following on Instagram With Hashtags

Mobile audiences use specific topics to find a post or user. I agree that you can improve your marketing strategy by using these hashtags to draw the audience to you.

Herman explains how your posts can attract the right followers for your brand.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • You need to know specifically what sets your posts apart rather than using generic terms. This will improve your chances of getting found in the 'top spots' on Instagram.

  • The best method is to use 15-20 hashtags per post and then focus on the 4-5 popular ones. These need to be related to your posts, and have a high number of usage.

  • The higher the engagement the more views your posts will get. Sometimes these can show up the the hashtag hubs for days or even weeks.

Instagram tips on hashtags
Vanessa Ong Li Wen's curator insight, March 19, 10:39 AM

As a non-user of Instagram, I understand the attraction of the application and the use of hashtags to gather as many like as possible. However, I fail to understand the prevalence of such a technology in our world today. An article on how to use hashtags as effectively as possible? When did it become a necessity for us to write about getting as many likes and affirmation as possible? If I were to use Instagram, I would treat hashtags as a way to simply and deconstruct the message that my photo was trying to convey. For example, if I were to post a photo of an art piece, instead of writing a detailed explanation of the piece which most would not want to read about, I would use hashtags to highlight whatever it is I wish to express to my followers. While I understand that Instagram may be attractive because it lets us in on our friends’ lives and serves as a platform for us to receive affirmation from our peers, I do not think we should rely on Instagram so heavily to the extent that we write articles on how to make our posts more popular and well received. We should make use of this application to share our photos and activities with our friends, as well as show appreciation to others through this platform.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Shiju Mathe because it provides several ways to be successful in leveraging multiple platforms.

Audiences no longer connect with a brand with just one platform.

Successful Cross Platform eCommerce Strategies

When building a business online you want to reach your community where they are. I agree that in order to attract customers you need to be active in multiple online entities.

Mathe explains the best ways to perform cross-channel marketing from your business website.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Understand your key objectives, target market, and brand message before tackling the digital aspects. Determine what your ultimate goal is and what the end result should look like from your customers.

  • Develop a communication strategy that will be adopted to the cross-platform work. It's important that your audience recognizes your brand voice on all platforms.

  • Provide reminders for your customers and leads through retargeting methods. This will encourage them to revisit your website and reconsider what you have to offer.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Paolo Fabrizio because it explains how to choose the right platform to handle customer service through social media.

Interacting with your customers takes attention to all digital channels where they are active.

Establish a Successful Social Customer Service System

Being attentive and involved with your customers is the key to growth and trust in your business. I agree that you can better provide for them by choosing the right management system.

Fabrizio shows you several ways to improve your customer service on social media with the right platform.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Create a plan of action before choosing a platform. This enables your business to make the right decisions at the right time -- especially when a team is involved.

  • When looking at various services you will want to take a look at their capabilities. This includes omni-channel support, in-depth analytics, and whether is it fully scalable.

Having the right knowledge can boost your online sales results.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • A little under half of all Internet users are from Asia. Bermuda has the highest Internet penetration -- most people there are online.

janlgordon's curator insight, January 17, 12:25 AM

I selected this article from Curatti written by Niraj Ranjan because it covers how to best approach your prospects.

Some phrases are outdated and inappropriate for business emails.

How to Communicate With Your Subscribers

It just takes a few words to lose the attention of a potential customer. I agree that in order to have more sales you should write your message in a way that is appealing and does not have a direct sales pitch.

Ranjan explains several phrases that do not work well for business emails.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • An overused cliche is, "Don't hesitate to contact me." It is not only over polite, but also sounds too phony. People are already aware that they can approach your business for further clarification on information.

  • Avoid filler phrases such as, "I hope you're well." These are hollow statements without true meaning or emotion. Instead keep the introduction light, and get straight to the point.

  • If your prospect asks a question responding with, "I don't know" is unprofessional. This gives the reader the wrong impression -- instead offer an answer that allows you to get back to them with the right information that they are looking for.

It's important to know the latest communication methods online in order to build a trusted brand.

Technology has affected the way we approach brands and businesses. I agree that it's important to understand that not all questions are presented publicly on social media.

Fabrizio shows explains the current state of social customer service through private messages.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • The new approach of communicating with your customers privately should be introduced slowly. This will help them transition from just relying on making comments publicly on social media.

  • Speed up your response times with the use of integrated AI and bots. This is turn improves customer satisfaction as long as they do not know it is not an actual human who is replying to them.

  • Set up a customized welcome message on Twitter when they write a DM. Customers also have the option now of selecting from a multiple choice menu.
