Join us to “celebrate” exactly 10 years of nothing.

Exactly 10 years ago BC Housing and the BC Liberal Government started pushing people out of their homes at Little Mountain Social Housing. 224 units of social housing and a successful community were destroyed by the provincial government with the promise that they would be quickly rebuilt. Today, Little Mountain is a giant vacant lot.

Papantonio: Monsanto Knowingly Sold Human Carcinogen To Consumers - The Ring of Fire Network

Papantonio: Monsanto Knowingly Sold Human Carcinogen To Consumers - The Ring of Fire Network | The Peoples News | Scoop.it
The Story begins as early as the 1980s when laboratory tests on glyphosate began to show cellular changes in laboratory animals that should have been considered early signals of a relationship to cancer.

In fact in 1985 the EPA during a time when it was actually effective; a time when it actually worked on behalf of a safe environment, determined that glyphosate the primary ingredient of Roundup needed to be classified as a class C carcinogen which meant that it clearly was suggestive of a relationship to cancer.

But then miraculously 6 years later the EPA suddenly changes that classification to something just the opposite where they claim that NO they were wrong; and overnight glyphosate according to the EPA and Monsanto the public now has no worries about cancer. Nothing to worry about here … move on.

GEO Group paid Trump off. Now Sessions is filling their prison beds.

Yes, GEO Group illegally donated to the Trump campaign. It is against federal campaign finance laws for companies that receive government contracts, to give political campaign contributions. And IT'S SCARY that the Federal Election Commission MIGHT fail to do its job by acting like it didn't happen in the first place.  As soon as the Trump Administration's reigned in on the White House, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions -- whose two former aides now work for GEO Group--immediately reversed the ban on federal private prisons. Soon after, GEO Group received contracts from the DOJ once again. To make it all worse, Jeff Sessions released a memo calling on 94 U.S. Attorneys to seek the harshest sentencing for drug offenses -- completely undoing years of transformative progress on sentencing reform.

Monsanto Weed Killer Roundup Faces New Doubts on Safety in Unsealed Documents

Monsanto Weed Killer Roundup Faces New Doubts on Safety in Unsealed Documents | The Peoples News | Scoop.it
The court documents included Monsanto’s internal emails and email traffic between the company and federal regulators. The records suggested that Monsanto had ghostwritten research that was later attributed to academics and indicated that a senior official at the Environmental Protection Agency had worked to quash a review of Roundup’s main ingredient, glyphosate, that was to have been conducted by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

That paper you’re using? That rayon shirt you’re wearing? Both are made from trees.
