Why Are You Hiding?

Why Are You Hiding? | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

In case you thought it was for real, my previous post about the Domination-Submission Workshop was indeed an April Fools joke. Anyone who clicked on the “Register Now” button would have seen the “April Fools” message. I still think the phony D/s workshop sales page was pretty awesome.

I also had way too much fun with last year’s April Fools post about hiring slaves.

Oddly I’ve noticed that when I blog about what may be considered socially taboo subjects like D/s, sex, open relationships, etc., I usually see a noticeable spike in traffic. But the social media discussions and referrals for those posts are typically deadsville.

Leadership Mantra: Noise.

Leadership Mantra: Noise. | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

This noise who changing our life.

About what noise are we talking about here? There is talk about the discontinuous noise in our head, which is an integral part of our daily live.

Have you ever paid attention, if so, what was his tone? It was a pleasant tone, beautiful, positive or rather, unpleasant, ugly and negative?

Here, you can imagine, is the big difference.

Why am I talking about this today? Just because our attitude is dictated by this dialogue. If you are in the unpleasant and negative plan, it goes without saying that it will be difficult for you, to have a full and balanced life – which should ultimately be the goal of all of us.

Leadership mantra : Possible vs Impossible.

Leadership mantra : Possible vs Impossible. | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

Possible is a state of mind!

You have certainly heard, on numerous occasions, people say, “that’s impossible.” What did you do with that? Here lies the difference between success and failure.

If we listen to such people, it is certain that we will abandon. Otherwise, we will continue and put the odds on our side to make things possible.

We live in a world where pessimism and lack of courage is part of the lives of many people. It’s what makes me say, that here we see clearly the difference between a leader and a follower.

Build Your Own Ladder

Build Your Own Ladder | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it
  1. Graduate college
  2. Climb the corporate ladder.
  3. Get a 3% raise every year that barely keeps past with inflation.
  4. Wait 5 years for someone to tell you’re you’re qualified for a promotion
  5. Stay in line. Don’t cause trouble. Keep climbing and someone else will make sure that everything is okay.

10 years ago, this was still the formula for a good enough living. Unfortunately, things have changed. The old promises can’t be kept any longer. Companies don’t hold on to workers for 30 years. The rapid pace of innovation means your ability to learn is more important than what you know right now – because that information is on it’s way to becoming outdated. In order to survive, you have to adapt.

So things have changed, but the ladder mindset hasn’t. Keep climbing the ladder, you’re told, and ignore that the trade-off isn’t what it used to be. It might not be perfect, but it’s good enough – so you should keep quiet and be happy...

20 Practical Ways to Kick Fear in the Butt

20 Practical Ways to Kick Fear in the Butt | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

Hands down, the most common reason I hear from my coaching clients for why they can’t accomplish something is fear.

They may not call it fear directly, but that’s what it is. They are afraid of some perceived bad outcome if they attempt the thing they really want.

And the irony is that the one thing standing between them and what they want in life isn’t really substantive. It is just a feeling, usually without any basis in reality. Most fears are that way — feelings without substance.

If you look back over the fears you’ve had during your lifetime, you’ll probably discover that most of them were unfounded. What you fear either didn’t materialize or wasn’t as bad as you feared.

If you think back, what have you gained? Here too, I am sure to can say that it was nothing good.

Leadership mantra: Action. | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

Action gives real meaning to life!

Without action, what is in some sense also an action…, success remains, in mostly cases, away from us. Useless to complain or blame the rest of the world, we are solely responsible for this situation and from the outcome that results.

Look ahead or around you and be honest with yourself and with others. You will find that the situation is always the result from immobility. It will be difficult to find another reason without using excuses!

Leadership mantra: Balance. | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

Balance is the regulator of happiness!

Why the regulator of happiness? It’s simple… without balance, no happiness possible! You know it and you’ve already realized many times in your life, I’m sure.

To have a balanced life, we must:

  • Giving and receiving, otherwise we will be quickly emptied of all our energy.
  • Move and rest, otherwise we will not be productive for a long time.
  • Live and let live, so as not to be won by frustration.

You will understand, too much or too little always end up creating problems that will interfere with our lives and also our well-being.

When I say balance, I am also referring to the core areas as:...

7 Ultimate Ways to Build Self-Confidence

7 Ultimate Ways to Build Self-Confidence | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

Self-confidence is the strand of confidence which exclusively deals with the self-assuredness in one’s personal judgment, ability, and power. It therefore is the most important sort of confidence because deprived of it we are simply left without a backbone.

That’s why whenever I write articles I always emphasize self-confidence because everything you ever do is built on this foundation.

These 7 strategies which will help you not just build, but radiate self-confidence.

1. Start Positive
A huge part of self-confidence simply comes from perspective. It comes from your outlook towards the world. So if at this moment you have any negative thoughts, begin replacing them with positive ones.

Redirect your substantial energy of frustration and negativity, and convert it into positive, determination.

7 Common Causes and Proven Cures for Procrastination

7 Common Causes and Proven Cures for Procrastination | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

Another interesting post about this very hot subject...! [note mg]

Do you put off doing things that would bring you closer to your desired goals? I know I do. But why are we so foolish?

It has something to do with how our daily responsibilities overwhelm us. In the midst of all the important things we know we need to do, we somehow convince ourselves that none of these things need to be done right now. In other words, we decide that some peace and relaxation in the short term is what’s most important.

So we take another break, read another blog post, watch another TV show and just kick back and relax. And life is blissfully dandy… for a little while.

But then suddenly the inevitable deadline has arrived. Ahhh! It’s panic time!

So here are 7 common causes and proven cures procrastination. I’m hoping these tips help you avoid that insane moment of panic.

Today I decided to go on a "dangerous" land – I know there are plenty of different interpretations – for you to share my vision on the subject.

In evaluations conducted in the past – well, this is more than ten years now – it became clear that I am a pragmatic person. I wonder how the same test would be interpreted today, because, since, many things are happened and my outlook on life changed dramatically in many areas.

Even if I’m stayed in some areas, it’s quite different in other areas of life.

Why do I say this?...

I love the philosophie from this grandmother, she had so right! A great post with a lot of easy to use advices. [note mg]

My grandmother never graduated from high school but she was one of the wisest people I have ever met. Being from rural Georgia, she always had a no-nonsense Southern saying that would cover any disaster.

She would often tell us: If you don’t know, you better ask somebody.

Universal laws are consistent. They work the same way for everyone every time. One of the best ways to learn the outcome of a universal law is simply to let them do the teaching.

  • Learn from the past
  • Learn from others
  • Apply what you learned

Restoring Hope

Restoring Hope | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

Lacking clarity about what you want to experience in life is a common problem. Another problem is having a reasonable sense of what you desire but feeling blocked in moving forward. With either of these problems, you may experience a feeling of stuckness, sometimes even hopelessness.

One of the main causes of this stuckness is tolerating too much of what you don’t want in your life. One reason this happens is that your standards for what you wish to experience may have risen, but you haven’t followed up with enough action to ensure that the various parts of your life meet these new standards.

The solution is fairly simple, but it can be difficult to put into practice because it usually requires some courage. That solution is to actively say no to what you don’t want in your life, to release it and let it go.

Self-Acceptance Lessons from Ralph Waldo Emerson

Self-Acceptance Lessons from Ralph Waldo Emerson | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else, is the greatest accomplishment.” Ralph Waldo Emerson, one of the greatest American essayists, poets, and thinkers, clearly understood the importance of self-acceptance. He believed in searching for truth from within. Back in the early days of the Transcendental movement, Emerson had experienced firsthand both the benefits and drawbacks of going against mainstream culture and society. Emerson’s clear message was that a self-directed path is the only path that can lead to true happiness and contentment.

The same message applies even in modern times. We are constantly bombarded by ideas that try to make us something else. We are told how to be, who we should be like, how to live, what our beliefs ought to be and what we should wear… and the list goes on.

Learn to Aim Higher

Learn to Aim Higher | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

Everyone, at some point in their life, has dreamed of accomplishing something extraordinary. Who hasn’t dreamed of being wealthy and successful doing work they love to do? Who hasn’t pictured themselves in a happy and loving relationship?

We may dream big dreams and have great aspirations, but unfortunately our dreams often remain just that – dreams. As time passes those dreams and aspirations can fade away if we let them.

It’s a sad turn of events when we allow this to happens . Instead of our life being an exciting adventure as we pursue our dreams, we can find ourselves caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day with nothing extraordinary to look forward to. But you know what, it doesn’t need to be that way. Life can be so much better. Once we learn how to aim higher and then follow through, amazing things begin to happen.

Inner-Strength Builds Confidence

Inner-Strength Builds Confidence | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

Just like everyone else in America, I come from a dysfunctional family.

I graduated from high-school at 16, got accepted and attended college and majored in Early Childhood Education only to have my own education become a casualty of my parent’s divorce. I’ll spare you the sordid details except for the ones that are necessary for this article.

At the ripe old age of 17, I found myself homeless and uneducated, unable to get a job, moving from relative to relative. It seems that one does not qualify for financial aid when one is a minor child of a prominent physician. It also seems that if one sits out of school for more than two terms, one is no longer considered a college student and therefore is not entitled to tuition. Hooray for the state of Illinois.

My mother had no job, no money and three younger children to feed. Luckily she had packed her deep freeze with produce and a half a cow the summer before or they would have starved. I would have merely become another burden for her to bear...

TODAY’S LEADERSHIP MANTRA: Present.

TODAY’S LEADERSHIP MANTRA: Present. | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

The present, the magic moment of life!

Today and now is the first day of our new life. It’s a phrase I heard repeatedly during my life and sometimes I have to remind me to think about it.

All we can do, change and live everyday, is this moment unique where is decided to our present and our future. I like to think that we are writing our book of life, our successes and our happiness, it gives me an incredible sense of freedom and a feeling that everything is possible.

“Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.” Mary Kay Ash

As a leader, we know that things are happening now and that all decisions and actions we do will change our present and our future and that, this is the best way forward and achieve our goals with our team.

3 Foundations of Courage – How to Create Momentum

3 Foundations of Courage – How to Create Momentum | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

How Do You Define Courage?

Do you think you are courageous? I know I didn’t think I was. A couple of years ago, I found myself curled up in my bed, depressed.

I had a good life. I had a reliable job and a nice place to live. I had friends around me. And I felt guilty about being depressed.

Deep inside, I knew that I was meant for more but I felt paralyzed to make a change because I didn’t have a clear vision of how to move forward.

I remember wrapping my arms around my knees and hugging them to my chest. I was so afraid to move forward, but I knew that I could not continue living a “good” life when my spirit longed to be free. I wanted to express my greatness!

You may feel the same way I did. Maybe not. You may doubt that same greatness lies within you or you may have absolute confidence in it.

No matter what your situation is, courage is the common denominator when it comes to success. Let me share what I did to move from depression to momentum...

How to Switch Dimensions

How to Switch Dimensions | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

When I want to make a significant change in my life, I often think of it in terms of switching dimensions. My attention is focused on my current reality right now, and my desired situation can be said to exist as some alternate reality outside of my primary focus. In that other reality, there’s another me who’s already where I want to be. My goal then is to become that other me and to shift into his reality.

In practice this is fairly straightforward. It may sound odd to you at first, but try not to get caught up on the words I use to describe the process. You may choose to frame it differently than I do, and that’s fine.

First I’ll explain how the process works in general, and then I’ll walk you through a specific example to illustrate it.

Here are the steps:...

10 Ways to Find More Hours in Your Day

10 Ways to Find More Hours in Your Day | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it

We all wish we had just a bit more time.

Just think what you could do with an extra hour or two each day: you could finally stick to an exercise routine, or spring-clean the house, or write your novel, or learn the guitar, or get a new qualification.

I can’t magically make all your days 25 hours long. But I can help you find more hours in your day for the things that really matter.

  1. Get Out of Bed Earlier
If you normally get up at 7.30am, try getting up at 7am. That half-hour might not sound like much -- but it could be time that you use to meditate, to exercise, to read that book you’ve been meaning to finish, or simply to get your day off to a calm and organized start.

The first hour or half-hour of the day is often a great chance to work on something important, before other demands crowd in on you. And if you need your beauty sleep? Just get to bed half an hour earlier.

Leadership mantra : Faith | PEOPLE BUILDING | Scoop.it
Faith or the certainty of its capacity to move towards success.

You know those days when nothing or very little work or we wonder what we did in the world to be in this situation!

During these phases, doubt and despondency can settle transiently, see permanent for some. It is in these moments that faith in our abilities and our values of life becomes important and makes the difference.

“A man of courage is also full of faith.” Marcus Tullius Cicero

Even if faith does not avoid completely doubt, it contributes significantly to the restoration of tranquility, which is more rapid, and largely reduces the frequency of doubts.
