LinkedIn is sprucing up its Sales Navigator offering with new tools designed to increase and improve salespeople’s reach. The Microsoft-owned company is launching a new plan for those seeking to tap into a larger network in order to connect with prospective buyers. Salespeople will also receive access to PointDrive, along with some added features and more support for their favorite Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Prior to today, LinkedIn offered two plans for Sales Navigator: a professional and team edition. The former was geared toward individuals, while the latter is for a group of salespeople. But what happens when you want to reach more people every month? That’s where the Enterprise Edition could be useful — salespeople will receive 50 InMails per month, 20 more than the team edition, and will receive access to Single Sign-On and a new feature called TeamLink Extend.

Agile marketing may currently be in the fad state, which Moore calls “something with no known market value or purpose but with ‘great properties’ that generate a lot of enthusiasm within an ‘in crowd’ of early adopters. That’s the early market.”

Agile is a change sensitive “product”; adopting it requires a change in marketers’ behavior. That means our primary competitors aren’t other work management systems. Our hurdles will be similar to the ones Moore outlines, where “Resistance has been a function of inertia growing out of commitment to the status quo, fear of risk, or lack of a compelling reason to buy.”

Fans and friends of Agile, then, need to start attacking the status quo, calming fears of risk, and articulating some very compelling reasons for marketers to “buy” Agile.

In this post, I’ll show you exactly how to filter LinkedIn results by any field on a profile, even those LinkedIn doesn’t let you search, opening the door for much more powerful searches across the LinkedIn network, get thousands of results, and get any prospect’s full name and profile details, even if they are not in your network.

To get around the limitations of LinkedIn search, we can use a strategy called X-Ray Searching. X-Ray Searching involves using another search engine, such as Google, to search LinkedIn public profiles. Using some advanced Google Search operators, we can work around LinkedIn’s search limitations, get higher quality results, and build highly relevant lists of prospects much more quickly.

X-Ray searching lets you scan public LinkedIn profiles, so you’re not limited by your network or immediate connections. The majority of public LinkedIn profiles also contain that person’s full name, giving you more access to their profile details than searching inside LinkedIn.

We found that, on the one hand, when customers had opened and read the previous email in the campaign, emailing them again the next day was the most successful strategy. Their likelihood of opening the emails (i.e., engaging with the campaign) declined over time after that.

On the other hand, when the customer had NOT opened and read the previous email in the campaign, the most successful strategy was to wait 4 days and then try again. Emailing too soon led to lower-than-average open rates. By not opening the email, the customer was giving an important signal: now is not a good time.

  • New research from the firm Spencer Stuart finds the average tenure for chief marketing officers at major consumer brands was 42 months, or 3.5 years, in 2016, down from the 44-month average reported in 2015, according to The Wall Street Journal. The study drew from 100 CMOs at some of the top ad spenders in the U.S.
  • Average CMO tenure shrunk for the second year in a row. A "perfect storm" of new, disruptive technologies, business headwinds and changing consumer habits — especially in the retail and CPG space — were among the reasons cited by Greg Welch, a Spencer Stuart consultant, to the Journal.
  • CMO tenure is an outlier and "pales" in comparison to job security in other C-suite positions: CEO tenure stood at a 7.2 year average in the S&P 500 last year and CFO average tenure was 5.7 years among the Fortune 500, per the Journal.
