The Kinship Project - A Way Station for Eclectic Souls

The Kinship Project - A Way Station for Eclectic Souls | KINSHIP COMMUNITY NETWORK | Scoop.it

The Kinship Project is in many ways evolving as a Way Station for eclectic souls — for people interested in bridging insights in consciousness drawn from many sources.

We have become a virtual repository that one can enter each day knowing that often something will appear expressing a message from the gods and is exactly what we have been waiting for. In an old mystical book store we might find several small, intimate spaces with books, held in worn wooded shelves, within library like bookcases. We can sit or recline in simple comfortable chairs browsing the perfect book, that only moments before spoke to us from its resting place.

This might also be experienced as a kind of Vision Cafe adorning the walls are authors, poets, artists, seers, seekers, mystics, sages, prophets, gurus, and teachers bringing wisdom and blessings for all who pass within this space. Mixed within our sacred space one will often be treated to the sounds of all manner of music from the tinkling of chimes, to sacred chants, to the beat of drums, to the strains of classical and on into rock n’ roll. Interspersed in private spaces threads of dialog between seekers can be heard, important conversations exploring personal and communal subjects through the heart center. We gather together in this resourced library of life, as tribes have done for thousands of years....there is great manna in this circle.

Our virtual way station supports us as we continue to explore the temporal and transpersonal expressions of consciousness. May we all find within this sanctuary a moment where we can touch the mystery of our personal and collective journey.

Aloha, Namaste, Aho

Michael

Hey Jude - Paul McCartney, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Sting, Phil Collins, Mark Knopfler, The Beatles - Dailymotion Video

Music For Montserrat was a concert held on September 15, 1997 at the Royal Albert Hall. Musicians came together to raise funds for the Caribbean island of Montserrat after a major volcanic eruption earlier that year had left the island devastated. The concert starred musicians such as Phil Collins, Ray Cooper, Carl Perkins, Jimmy Buffett, Mark Knopfler, Sting, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Midge Ure, Arrow and many more, all of whom had once recorded at the island's famous AIR Studios. The concert was arranged and produced by George Martin, with proceeds from the show evening, DVD and CD, used for immediate relief and also helping fund the building of a new cultural center in Montserrat. On completion in 2006, George Martin gifted the centre to the islanders. For Carl Perkins this was his last major live performance as he died just over four months later on January 19, 1998

Dreams: Still the Royal Road to the Unconscious - Mad In America

Dreams: Still the Royal Road to the Unconscious - Mad In America | KINSHIP COMMUNITY NETWORK | Scoop.it
As a Jungian, and a blogger on Mad In America, I've been feeling the need to weigh in a bit from a depth psychology perspective. I rarely read about dreams, or the function of the personal or collective unconscious here. So here goes my attempt to communicate what my friend and mentor John Weir Perry shared with me, from a teaching on understanding dreams that Carl Jung had personally revealed to John in the 1940's.

“Yet the real carrier of life is the individual. He alone feels happiness, he alone has virtue and responsibility and any ethics whatever. The masses and the state have nothing of the kind. Only man as an individual human being lives; the state is just a system, a mere machine for sorting and tabulating the masses.”

Michael Goodman's insight:
Its all about Heaven and Earth...full moon madness is present the last few days. She is the mystery, remembering that the dark side of the moon is always hidden and remains a mystery. The moon is known traditionally as the mystery of mysteries. In the darkness of the hidden side of the moon is the gateway for consciousness to move beyond its own emotional barriers into the deeper, more universal currents of awareness and desire.

She covers everything in a scene--people, chairs, food, you name it--in a mask of paint that mimics what's below it. In this eye-opening talk Meade shows off photographs of some of the more outlandish results, and shares a new project involving people, paint and milk.

America’s Wotan | Soul Spelunker

America’s Wotan | Soul Spelunker | KINSHIP COMMUNITY NETWORK | Scoop.it
"In 1936, C.G. Jung wrote a very important and very timely essay for that particular period of German history, simply called Wotan. At the end of World War I, Germany was left destitute after the Treaty of Versailles. Thousands were left unemployed, inflation was out of control, and people were starving. Germany was forced to pay reparations for the war, as well as hand over territories that contained important economic resources. Jung watched from Switzerland as these conditions brought about, in his estimation, a dark eruption of the German unconscious. The “ancient god of storm and frenzy, the long quiescent Wotan” awoke from his slumber. Jung likened it unto the eruption of an extinct volcano that had lay dormant for millennia. There is no need to go into the ensuing dark details. We are well aware, if we have studied twentieth century history at all, what malevolence occurred" -  Soul Spelunker

A Hero Few Know

A Hero Few Know | KINSHIP COMMUNITY NETWORK | Scoop.it
"Do you know who this is a photo of? Chances are you don’t, but don’t feel bad because probably not one American in one million does, and that is a National tragedy. His name is Eugene Jacques Bullard, and he is the first African-American fighter pilot in history. But he is also much more then that: He’s also a national hero, and his story is so incredible that I bet if you wrote a movie script based on it Hollywood would reject it as being too far-fetched.

Bullard was an expat living in France, and when World War 1 broke out he joined the French Infantry. He was seriously wounded, and France awarded him the Croix de Guerre and Medaille Militaire. In 1916 he joined the French air service and he first trained as a gunner but later he trained as a pilot. When American pilots volunteered to help France and formed the famous Lafayette Escadrille, he asked to join but by the time he became a qualified pilot they were no longer accepting new recruits, so he joined the Lafayette Flying Corps instead. He served with French flying units and he completed 20 combat missions.

When the United States finally joined the war, Bullard was the only member of the Escadrille or the French Flying Corps who was NOT invited to join the US Air Service. The reason? At that time the Air Service only accepted white men. Now here is the part that almost sounds like a sequel to ‘Casablanca’: After WWI Bullard became a jazz musician in Paris and he eventually owned a nightclub called ‘L’Escadrille’.

When the Germans invaded France and conquered it in WW2, his Club, and Bullard, became hugely popular with German officers, but what they DIDN’T know was that Bullard, who spoke fluent German, was actually working for the Free French as a spy. He eventually joined a French infantry unit, but he was badly wounded and had to leave the service. By the end of the war, Bullard had become a national hero in France, but he later moved back to the U.S. where he was of course completely unknown. Practically no one in the United States was aware of it when, in 1959, the French government named him a national Chevalier, or Knight.

In 1960, the President of France, Charles DeGaulle, paid a state visit to the United States and when he arrived he said that one of the first things he wanted to do was to meet Bullard. That sent the White House staff scrambling because most of them, of course, had never even heard of him. They finally located him in New York City, and DeGaulle traveled there to meet him personally. At the time, Eugene Bullard was working as … An elevator operator. Not long after Eugene Bullard met with the President of France, he passed away, and today very, very few Americans, and especially African-Americans, even know who he is. But, now YOU do, don’t you? And I hope you’ll be able to find opportunities to tell other people about this great American hero that probably only 1 American in 1 Million has ever heard of".
