Sheding light on the origings of the teachiings / way that Jesus taught to his disciples and family - VS - those teachings passed down from Paul (who thought Jesus a fraud prior to his death) who never learned the teachings first hand.
With this very subject, dealing with the 'Divinity of Christ', it is almost comical in the video when each side takes a secular stance of defense of stagnant dogma through and through...
On the one hand to say Jesus was not divine, using nothing but his own words, looks an appealing position and easily believable. However, the other hand (the Father's Right :), Jesus was clearly stating that he and the Father are One. Unfirtunetly that is where most stop and crown him with the title he asked not for ("I am not your Master, nor Teacher", etc...) and I have yet to meet an astute CHristian in my area that has either recognized or will discuss the fact that Jesus tirelessly showed us all how we to can come to the father, who hasd many rooms in his mansion, and fulfill the divinity that Jesus has paved the way for to utilize and bridge. The first, of so many, that comes to mind would be in John 14, starting at verse 12 (NIV)...
12 "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these..."
I do hope that we all can someday stop fighting, hating, killing and more over our opinions of such topics that where intended for so much more of the oposite. That we can simply love one another, realize that 'Kingdom at Hand', so to take our place in the mansion with many rooms.
The Iconocast is a collective project of a handful of radical practitioners, separated by thousands of miles, each exploring the way of Jesus in the Empire. Usually, episodes follow an interview format. We don’t always interview Christians or anarchists. Rather, we interview those who we believe have some wisdom to share for those who are exploring the intersection of Christianity and anarchism.
Todd Levi's insight:
This is an excellent source of differing perspectives of who Jesus was, what "it all" meant in a larger context and will, in general, get everyone thinking outside of the perverbial box that has been so tightly locked since it all began. I dont agree with everything but find it healthier than the lies perpetuated for centuries.
