10 Things Creators Should Know About The Latest Study on YouTube's Top Channels | Visual and Interactive Content Strategy | Scoop.it

Undergraduate students in the Internet and Mobile Media Concentration at Columbia College, Chicago recently compiled the 2013 YouTube Study, which analyzed the practices of the 241 most popular channels on YouTube. The study includes information from both independent YouTube channels and extensions of large brands such as VEVO and major record labels such as Universal.

Shanika Journey's insight:

I'm gonna check out the report. Basically, entertainment dominates Youtube as far as popularity. Some popular pro independent sites just base an entire channel on one ceratin skill they have and give a ton of tutorials on ther site. I'm curious to know what they learned in their study (which is a 175 eBook in the article). Because there is a science to getting a popular Youtube channel with a ton of traffic.
