"Arts Council England and the LGA have developed guiding principles which will assist local authorities who are considering reviewing the delivery of their library services to work with their communities.

Some of these guiding principles include:

the importance of local authorities taking a strategic view across their whole library servicethat there is no one model recommended for community involvement – locally appropriate solutions usually work bestthat community libraries are testing new approaches to library service delivery

"What is in store for 2012? With only two months remaining until the end of the year, there is no better time than now to pause and take a look towards the future."

 

 

 

Here are a few things that caught my attention:

First, the easy prediction: more and more of the information we consume on a daily basis (from news to product reviews to entertainment) will come via the social media channels we have opted into and, more specifically, from the information filters we have chosen to subscribe to in those channels.
