"A "bookstore look and feel" is coming to Gilbert's Southeast Regional Library.
Maricopa County Library District, which is doing away with the Dewey Decimal Classification System in all of its 17 libraries, has begun transforming its largest library to a more user-friendly book classification. It reflects a bookstore type of classification, with books organized according to major categories and subcategories.
The Deweyless system is slated to be in place by spring at Southeast Regional. The first step in the process -- weeding dated and damaged books -- has begun."
